Hush Hush? This Pussy Cat Roars.

Everyone knows Nicole Scherzinger had big ambitions.

She wasn't satisfied just being a member of Eden's Crush, she went on to become THE Pussycat doll.

Like how Beyonce was to Destiny's Child.

She's a triple threat:
Gorgeous, great voice and great move.

Snooki is as street as it gets; she knows her moves and can rough it out.

But She does know how to be diva-on-the-set , living the high life of glam.

Q ... P!nk and Paris , bring it on! This girl can 'take care of her self' and 'loves to be the centre of attention!' .

The Next Best Superstar

As 2010 looms ahead and signal that we're soon to exit the first decade of the new millennium, looking back at how the industry had evolved into an unpredictable, volatile and insanely competitive environment where marketing hype and packaging almost outshines talent, we look ahead and wonder who's gonna make it or break it in the NEXT decade.

The Top 5 Music artistes to look out for in the Next Decade.

1) Whitney Houston: After a 7-year absence, she’s back on top. What’s next on her cards to prove to the newer generation on what talent and diva-licious really mean and what does she still have in her?

2) Lady Gaga: She’s edgy and ground breaking in both her style and music and it’s to no one’s surprise that she’s likely the biggest star on the charts for the next decade. Or will she? Is she fucking crazy? Or fucking fabulous?

3) Shakira: How will the world be even more convinced of this multi-talented chanteuse?

4) Madonna: She’s celebrated her reign as Queen of Pop longer than anyone, what’s the next decade gonna be like for the Mother of Reinvention now that she’s left Warner Music, the very label that made her?

5) Susan Boyle: She’s the single biggest story of rags to riches, talent above all else. Her massive album sales says it all. Perhaps she’ll lead the way for a new generation with a genuine appreciation for talent, rather than looks and packaging?

Over-stayers Alert:

Britney, Rihanna, Beyonce and Mariah will still be around, though the fatigue the public has of them is getting as obvious as their shrinking creative space.

On that note, will Mariah finally bulldoze her way pass Elvis and The Beatles as the artiste with the most #1-hits on the Bill Board charts, given her sleepy release of her recent ‘Memoirs’ album which is indeed imperfect?

What’s next for these?

>What’s next for Janet who’s just launched her penultimate greatest hits and who now remains the only viable member of the Jackson clan on the charts?

When in fact, her recent songs are not making the waves like they used to simply because she cannot sing like Whitney or Mariah, not is as media savvy as Madonna nor deemed as hot as Britney and Beyonce?

>Will Lil Kim continue to reign as the Queen of Female Rap music? Is she making a comeback anytime?

>Will Kelly Clarkson remain the Queen of Idols?

>Will Alicia Keys and Leona Lewis indeed become the new ‘Whitneys’ for Clive Davis?

>Will Norah Jones continue to lead the way for the new generation of female Jazz vocalists?

>Will The Wonder Girls truly break into the International market next year? Or will they just be a one-hit wonder?

>Will Nicole Scherzinger finally get her (successful) solo break from The Pussy Cat Dolls?

>How will Vanessa Mae continue to redefine classical-pop music like she had for the most part of the last 2 decades?

>Will Ciara’s music career sink further into the abyss in the next decade?

>How will Jordin Sparks, Alessandra Burke and Keri Hilson define themselves more distinctly to finally earn the recognition they deserve?

> Will The Spice Girls make another comeback?

Top 3 Albums of 2009

This is the final week of dreaded 2009.

The music got better and more manic than ever.

And the battle for chart dominance was never this intense and strenuous on both the artistes and their fans.

Well, as the year finally closes with such crecendo, let me state my 2 cents worth of this year's Top 3 Biggest Albums of 2009.

Holler vulgarities at me if you want :-)

At#1 : Whitney Houston 's 'I Look To you ' . Not surprisingly, it really did Debut at #1 on the Bill Board Charts. Classy and timeless and very well produced. Every song is single-worthy. No one sings like she does. Period.

At #2 : Lady Gaga 's 'The Fame Monster'; formaliac and precise. Another round of song-chart dominance for sure.

At#2 (it's a tie!): Shakira's 'She-Wolf' is sexy, thumping hot and very well produced. Her multi-talents, as usual shines through unmistakably. This girl should not be big. She should be Huge.

At #3: Susan Boyles's 'I Dreamed A Dream'; this here is pure inspiration , where talent and sheer will to succeed brought her here. Memorable.

There , if you're still scrambling to get fresh music before the year closes, these 4are must-gets and you can pretty much give Michael Jackson, a final rest-in-peace.

Dance Doyens

Shakira coos about getting out of the closet and let the animal out.

Britney suggests strongly a menage trois or a full on mass orgy.

Ga Ga roars about forbidden romances.

Beyonce seduces with phone and video sex.

Madonna just wants to have a great time on the dance floor (and the after party action).

They've all rocked the dance charts.

But who's gonna be the ultimate show-down diva on the dance floor, this year end?

The Queens of the Charts

It is the time of the year again where the last crop of big music artists launch their albums in a bid to have a slice of the eagerly buying Christmas/ Year-end crowd.

Where songstresses are concerned, the fickle and bitchy music world is their playground as they pout, pose and belt to their loyal subject of fans.

Launching rocking singles, glossy videos and snooping the competition with massive publicity stunts, collabos and other strategic moves all in the name of fame; who ranks higher up the charts and is snitching more of the consumer's money (yes, these days its all about the sex and the money isn't it?) is their modus operandi.

So here is a rather comprehensive list of the Big Mamas of today's music charts.

If she ain't on it, she ain't hot.

Listed, though not in any order or merit, with their most recent efforts:

1) Whitney Houston (I Look to you)*
2) Beyonce (I am Sasha Fierce)*
3) Mariah Carey (Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel)
4) Madonna (Celebration)*
5) Lady Gaga (The Fame Monster)*
6) Britney Spears (Circus & The Singles Collection)*
7) Christina Aguilera (Keeps Getting Better)
8) Rihanna (Rated R)*
9) Ciara(Fantasy Ride)
10) Leona Lewis (Best Kept Secret & Echo)*
11) Shakira (She-Wolf)*
12) Janet Jackson (Number Ones)
13) Alicia Keys (As I am)
14) Norah Jones (The Fall)
15) Jordin Sparks (Battlefield)
16) Fergie ( The End ; with The Black Eyed Peas)
17) Nicole Scherzinger ( Doll Domination ; with The Pussy Cat Dolls)*

(Those with * are particularly splendid this year)

And please, no Miss Miley ok?

And certainly, not Michael Jackson, Elton John or Adam Lambert.

I know I could be lambasted by loyal fans for those Divaaaaasss who didn't make it in. Sorry and ... may not.

Comeback Queen of the Night

Move over Britney, Whitney Houston is ready to take the title of comeback queen.

And David Foster, the legendary hit-maker for stars ranging from Barbra Streisand and Celine Dion to Madonna and Michael Jackson, is finally talking about his reunion with the superstar.

Foster collaborated with Houston on the blockbuster soundtrack single "I Will Always Love You." He knows fans are wondering if she's ready to resume her hugely successful career after years battling her personal demons.

Q: You and Whitney are finally together again. How is she doing?

David Foster: I was in the studio with her last week. She's in great shape and she looks good. We have this fantastic song that Diane Warren wrote and we went in and recorded it. It went really well. Her work ethic was exactly the way it was when we did the song for The Bodyguard. She worked incredibly hard for two nights and we came up with something really good.

Q: Whitney has been through some tough times. Do you think she has her life and career back on track?

DF: I think she's going to have a great album out within the year. Whitney is a girl that everybody would like to see come back and, in this case, it really would be a comeback. A lot of people say, 'Come back? I never left.' But Whitney did leave and she hasn't recorded in about 10 years, I believe. So this truly would be a comeback.

Songwriter Diane Warren had something to say about the the song she wrote for Houston.

Q: What's the song about, Diane?

Diane Warren: I don't usually write music with someone in mind. But I set out to write this song specifically for Whitney and it's called "I Didn't Know My Own Strength." It definitely touches on her life, but I think a lot of people will relate to it because they've gone through hard times too.

Q: How was her performance?

DW: I was praying that Whitney was going to be able to nail it and she exceeded my expectations. She sang the s*** out of that song. Seriously, it was amazing. I'll tell you something, Whitney is back. Let there be no doubt.

Wannabe Whitney

She looks like her. God-damn looks like her!

And is even dating her own Mr. Brown and suffering , apparently, the same trashing-behind-closed-doors.

Now,
she wants to do what made Whitney the timeless superstar that she came to be.

Yes, Rihanna is to star in a remake of 'The Bodyguard'.

Or so says reports.

The 21-year-old pop star - whose boyfriend Chris Brown has been charged with felony assault and making criminal threats following his alleged assault on her - has reportedly been looking at various scripts in New York, including a remake of the hit 90s film which starred Whitney Houston and Kevin Costner.

A source told the New York Daily News newspaper: 'Before the situation with Chris, Rihanna was getting a lot of scripts. She has been wanting to do movies for a while now.'

If the film goes ahead, Rihanna's character will be a 'young and sexy take' on the popstar previously played by Whitney.

The Barbados-born beauty will star alongside 'GI Joe' actor Channing Tatum who will play her on-screen love interest.
~MSN News

Rihanna, seriously, as much as I am a huge fan of your dance-hall R&B-pop brandished with your signature reggae-fied vocoder vocals, you real-life Ananova you, whether you looking like Whitney's long lost younger sister or not, does not give your any veto-right to go all out to seal that deal.

C'mon, a Bodyguard sequel minus the signature voice-on-fire of Miss Houston, just don't cut it.

Image can only go that far , Miss Barbados.

Q ...Really.

The Diva is a Female version of a Hustler

A stunning-looking and strong-sounding Whitney Houston made a triumphant return to the stage at a pre-Grammy party honoring her mentor, music mogul Clive Davis.

"I've got it, I've got it!" Houston, looking glamorous in a skintight leopard dress, sang early Sunday morning as she belted a line from one of her classic hits, "I'm Every Woman." But more than a lyric, it summarized to the crowd of A-list superstars and top industry execs that the superstar _ whose drug use and erratic behavior had caused a shocking fall from grace just a few years ago _ was back in top form.

A smiling Houston performed Jennifer Hudson's hit "Spotlight," which earned her one of her four Grammy nominations, and got a standing ovation from the crowd.

But she raised the bar with a pairing with Barry Manilow, injecting one of his signature songs, "Weekend in New England," with a lacking ingredient _ soul.

Afterward, the Oscar-winner joined the audience (and friend Fantasia), stood in the front and danced and sang as Houston performed. Houston started off with "I Will Always Love You," but didn't hit the high, sustaining notes that made the song such a dramatic, stirring hit. Instead, she kept her voice at medium power, deciding to croon rather than soar.

But as she got into hits like "It's Not Right, But It's O.K.," her voice appeared to get stronger _ and louder, and while she never replicated the vocal gymnastics of some of her past work, delivered a mesmerizing performance nonetheless.

The 45-year-old, one of the best-selling artists of all time and among the greatest singers, hasn't made an album since 2002. Then she was was sinking due to drug use and a tumultuous personal life _ a far cry from the princess image she cultivated since her debut in the 1980s.

But the singer is expected to release an album sometime this year, and unlike other reported returns, this comeback seems to be the real deal.

"She was on it, she was happy _ she's back,"
said Foxx. "Everybody else watch out."

I will Always Screw U?

Yes, Whitney will screw you, rumour mongers. Not Bobby Brown, no more.

Rumour has it that Whitney Houston's back with Bobby Brown.

And her publicist Nancy Seltzer, as always, is quick to come to her rescue. (Thank god! And she deserves a pay rise.)

Crack is wack. Bobby's wack.

C'mon peeps! Whitney took an agonizing 14 years to rid of him from her life.

Too long did he mess with her fame.

Whitney's dating again and her new album is out early next year.
So, screw you, she must be screaming.

And yes, when Whitney screams, every one listens.

R.E.S.P.E.C.T pls

I really don't understand why relationships have to be made so complicated.

When you love some one, do you not show care, concern and respect ?

I'm not asking for money or blood.

All I asked is the simple action of consideration and integrity in one's actions and words.

Is this person's heart made of stone? ... When a promise is broken once too often, this person has become nothing more than a Liar (?!).
I don't want to acknowledge that . But my baby is becoming. :(:::

BIG (Alter) Egos

When you're a famous pop star, you're flattered by bootlickers and fans to a point where your ego begins to swell larger than your head ( or that recent boob job) .

You begin to think that you're too big even for your own famous name.

Maybe the Spice Girls started it with their Baby, Sporty, Ginger, Scary and Posh tags way back then.
And Madonna was the Material Girl and Bette Midler was The Divine Miss M even before it was hip to do so.

But these DivAAAAAs use their reinvented egos to swell their fame and coffers.

Jennifer Lopez started it. she became known simply as J-Lo.

(with an ego that swollen she still tried hard to persuade the public that Her Love don't cost a Thing and that she's still just Jenny from The Block. Whateva ya Miss Bronx-0-fabulous.)

Suddenly, Janet Jackson made sure everyone knew that she had always been Damita Jo.

(or we could otherwise just call her Lil Miss Wacko Jacko.. which isn't glam isn't it? but neither is an exposed Nipple...)

Mariah made a massive comback by reinvinting herself as Mimi.

(And yes, she claims that she really did grew up with that nic. And my childhood nic was really Fifi.)

Lo and behold...

Beyonce Knowles now proudly announces that she IS Sasha Fierce.

Note, it is not 'I'm also called' but 'I AM' .

Messed up. ^^

Posing for Dominance

Who's the Baddest B*tch on the Runway?

Supermodel Tyra Banks

Supermodel Naomi Campbell

She is a goddess in the fashion world and a she-devil beyond it. She , too, has done every designer and every magazine out there. She was Queen of Vogue.

Life After Vegas

The Canadian diva is back with a brand new album fresh out of her recent Glam-rock effort 'Taking Chances'.

In that album, as its name suggests, is a leap away from her usual balladry. The vocals were as astounding as ever but she's taking a jab at the manic scream fest of true blue rockers to much effect.

Fresh out of her hectic 2-year stint at Caesar's Palace, Las Vegas, she's taking things a little easier this time round.

Here, in her latest greatest hits release,
'My Love: Essential Collection/ Ultimate EC (Double disc special edition)'
, much like rival diva Mariah Carey's 'Mariah: The Ballads' which was launched at exactly the same time, brings her fans and naysayers back to her roots.

Unlike her previous greatest hits compilations, which often seemed mashed together indecisively, this time round, one could tell that much time and effort was put into selecting a wider repertoire of songs which better represent her impressive body of work, with the special edition 'ultimate-version' even respecting the inputs of her fans and their favourites.

But like any true super star with too many great hits in their careers, there will always be tracks sorely missing from the line-up.

But unlike mere pop stars which come and go by the dozens, here is a titan which will forever be remembered no matter the circumstance.

So, as mentioned earlier on, any exercise like this, launching one too many greatest hits once too often, is but to gratify the insatiable thirst of the rabid fans who will lap up anything these celestial beings of Pop churn up, even if they've already had in their collections , the same ole songs ten times over.

Yes, indeed, an album like 'My Love' is but to keep Miss Dion's coffers real healthy (private jets don't come cheap you know)and just serves as a 'gentle' reminder of who's Queen.

The type of music, histrionics, lyrical phrasing and vocal power-ups unheard of these days.

The type of music and blatant display of power head tones that made her, Whitney and Mariah, the Divas of all time.

Every young starlet out there can only gasp in wonder.

Much like when they were growing up listening to them.

Everybody wants to become a Butterfly

Mariah's Latest to continue her fight for chart dominance against the Britney, Beyonce and Rihanna crowd: 'Mariah: The Ballads'

As she nears the Big 4-0, as she see's the increasing impossibilities of toppling the Beatles from their throne and witnessing the manic competitiveness of younger starlets like Beyonce, Britney and Rihanna gaining heat and ground; She goes back to her roots to remind people what she and only a few others in history were capable of doing really well and what made her really big.

Singing ballads with a souring and effortless voice of flawless technique and emotive melisma.

Let's face it, these days, the emulators of Whitney, Mariah and Celine, struggle to hit the same notes with the same effortless finesse.

Lee Ann Rimes, Christina Aguilera, Beyonce , Fergie , Leona Lewis, Alicia Keys , Nicole Scherzinger, Lara Fabian, Anastacia et al. You name it. They only prove that sheer lung power is not nearly enough to match the un paralleled charisma of lyrical phrasing and time-foresaken technique .

These days, the music business is tough.

CD sales are dropping and every star out there is overexposed by the sheer media frenzy that modern IT brings forth.

So, a CD is not good enough.
Make that double discs, special 'limited' edition versions, remix CDs and even a greatest hits compilation once every other year.

All speak of
the hard realties of an undying Superstar.

Feel her Spirit

A girl this beautiful . With a graceful presence
and a voice with power and range that matches the Whitneys and Mariahs.

Now, you can't go wrong with that formula.

Winning the British version of American Idol was her big break.

Clive Davis , as her mentor and producer , was her bigger .

No over-singing just to prove that she can a.l.a Christina Aguilera, Beyonce and Nicole Scherzinger.

She 's the new muse (apart from Alicia Keys) of music mogul-extraordinaire Mr. Davis, who's famous for shaping the career of all-time Diva Whitney Houston.

The note-scaling power antics are mandatory for any of Clive's girls.

But, so is subtlety and grace.

So, yes, Leona is lead well.

If , let's say, you haven't already heard her smash 'Bleeding Love' and grooved to Danja and proving the point that you're not likely from a lonely planet called Gia, yeah.

For a long time, there were the wannabes but never real successors to the Houstons , Careys and Dions.

Now here heralds.

Embrace this
Next Big Thing
.

Q

> Together with Amy Winehouse, Rihanna, Fergie and Duffy, me thinks, these girls are gonna be tomorrow's Divvvaaaas.
Oh Beyonce, please sit down...
