Same Script Different Cast

Dear Mr. Brown...

Both women, successful, famous and rich beyond dreams. Yet one thing plagued them.

Whitney Houston has had a most illustrious music career with her slew of #1 hits (11, mind you), multiple awards won (a Guiness Book of record entry no less) and millions of records sold (almost 180 million albums, to be exact).

But when she married Bobby Brown, her personal and professional life took a dip.

She was a battered wife.

Look at Rihanna, today, the pop star whose career is upsurging with her own slew of hits and big selling records and whose image emulates Miss Houston , right down to the short cropped hair, the mega watt smile and androgyny and to a penchant of leather-and-fur wear, has her own domestic issues with another Mr. Brown, Chris Brown.

Both Mr. Browns are years younger then the 2 women, too.

The similarities are astounding.
And while the comparisions are flattering to Miss Barbados and rendering Miss Houston , relatable, it is also but a sad and embarassing parallel of seeing History repeat itself.

Rihanna, take a hard look yourself and think well.
It took Whitney 14 years to get out of the rut.

Q... it recalls Whitney's 2000 R&B hit song 'Same Script Different Cast' .

Going Gaga over her?

Not really.

Her music is electro pop ; like an updated 80's track record.

Formaliac. Great sounding but ultimately, lacking in emotion and connection.

More pop than grind.

Don't get me wrong , she's not bad a singer and producer and her Fame album, is really quite the self-indulgent streak as it is.

It keeps my mood up but does little to make me excited, just to say.

Her image? You do wonder what all the hype is about. She's the next stylista since Madonna , apparently.

Ok , seriously, my take is that she's kinda trashy. Strange. And certainly, not pretty or easy on the eyes.

She's all over the place.

Much like street-walker gone wrong.

More in the hood than from the hoodlum.

So no, I'm not hatin this new girl on the block, she's good in her own kinky way, but no, I'm not going GaGa.

R.E.S.P.E.C.T pls

I really don't understand why relationships have to be made so complicated.

When you love some one, do you not show care, concern and respect ?

I'm not asking for money or blood.

All I asked is the simple action of consideration and integrity in one's actions and words.

Is this person's heart made of stone? ... When a promise is broken once too often, this person has become nothing more than a Liar (?!).
I don't want to acknowledge that . But my baby is becoming. :(:::

Q ....Is my heart made of stone?

Sigh.

If it ain't Sunday, it ain't Fab.

I need my bumb and grind.

Was with Ed on Saturday at St. James' PowerHouse after attending my bgff's wedding dinner.

After the closure of MOS , the queues at other clubs are long. Really long. Was trying to get into O-Bar and the queue was long too. I just couldn't wait. (Actually the turn-off crowd was the main reason I didn't want to be there. And No I don't want to elabo 'case I start a racial war here...)

To cut to the chase and back to the gist, we ended up in the longer queues of ST. James' PowerHouse.

In retrospect, I should have just headed straight back home and catch up on my beauty RAM-Cycle.

See, by 3 am, I was so bored by the suxy DJ that I just had to leave before I risk ending up in comatose.

Never happened before.

Well, the crowd is blah-blah-blah and the music though nice , is NOT FABULOUS.

Q... because if it ain't Sunday, it just don't cut it.

More than a Ear Worm

Don't stop the Music

Ever had a particular song you're crazy about at any point in time?

Of course we all do.

That theme song that goes on and on.

In fact you're prolly having one right now. That song that just pops into your head incessantly.

It may not even be a particularly infectious pop ditty.

Most of the time, we dismiss it as a mere hear worm.

But is it really?

Have you ever considered the possibility that we may be less aware of certain emotional or mental swings; certain thoughts that may be running unwittingly through our mental scapes?

Thus, we may be having a certain song which becomes some theme , whether for the mood it conjures or the lyrics that speak so real.

And you may not even know it !!!!

So, if you're having certain thoughts or feelings that you haven't really sorted out due to the hectic pace of life, the answer may really lie in the songs you're gravitating to at that point or period in time.

Seek your answers there.

Feel her Spirit

A girl this beautiful . With a graceful presence
and a voice with power and range that matches the Whitneys and Mariahs.

Now, you can't go wrong with that formula.

Winning the British version of American Idol was her big break.

Clive Davis , as her mentor and producer , was her bigger .

No over-singing just to prove that she can a.l.a Christina Aguilera, Beyonce and Nicole Scherzinger.

She 's the new muse (apart from Alicia Keys) of music mogul-extraordinaire Mr. Davis, who's famous for shaping the career of all-time Diva Whitney Houston.

The note-scaling power antics are mandatory for any of Clive's girls.

But, so is subtlety and grace.

So, yes, Leona is lead well.

If , let's say, you haven't already heard her smash 'Bleeding Love' and grooved to Danja and proving the point that you're not likely from a lonely planet called Gia, yeah.

For a long time, there were the wannabes but never real successors to the Houstons , Careys and Dions.

Now here heralds.

Embrace this
Next Big Thing
.

> Together with Amy Winehouse, Rihanna, Fergie and Duffy, me thinks, these girls are gonna be tomorrow's Divvvaaaas.
Oh Beyonce, please sit down...

Drama Mama

It is high time The 'Music'-Star looked hard at her own reflection and ask exactly what kind of person she really is ... one too crazy for fame?

If there was one person so shamelessly chasing fame and self-preservation, there can be only one person: Madonna.

She'll do anything to keep her star bright.

Anything for fame. Anything for hype.
Anything to make more money.

She blasphemes religions, takes advantage of sub-demographics and cultures.

Sacrificing the integrity of her position as a wife and mother, even, just to pump up ticket sales for her world tour is nothing to her.

She'll grow old one day and realize that all she had given up was her morality as a living breathing person unworthy of clearing the Pearly Gates of Saint Petersberg.

Regrettably shameless.
