Will Tranny Banks be the New First Lady?

-She's Almost 6 feet tall.

-Big lush weaves and wigs.

-Thick dramatic eyemake up

-Huge boobies.

-Platform-heels.

-Leopard prints and cocktail dresses.

-Retro-disco studio set.

-Celebrity gossip, interviews, dissing and socialite-banter.

-Loud and bashful personality.

-Camp and drag-queen fabulous.

Yes, that's Wendy Williams for you .

And she's set to become the next big African-American talkshow hostess with burgeoning ratings since her show started in 2008.

And now that her main rivals, Tyra and Oprah are set to pull out from the scene in 2010 and 2011, respectively, and the latest news being Wendy's show is set to roll on till 2012 at least, she is here to stay and continue to bring saucy daytime talk show juice into our living rooms.

Yes, she does have her detractors calling her 'fake' ('switches' things up according to Omarosa), 'tranny' (many love to diss) and 'plastic' (more than just botox we suspect? Ahem! Breast implants? Rhinoplasty? Lipo?)

But this girl is anything but boring and that's that. (If I wanted boring stuff, I'd switch to Rachel Ray or something.)

She is not merely a 'face' producers put out there for the TV ( to compete with Tyra, we suppose?) ; for she does have her credentials like a university education, is a famous radio DJ, a best-selling author, has a long and successful marriage and mother of 1.)

So, she's certainly 'been there done that ' (she claims to have had been a drug addict for 10 years previously)and has had a successful life balancing all aspects of her life and still looking fab at a grand dame age of 45.

So there you have it.

Never mind her famous run-ins with Whitney Houston and Omarosa; she still has the goods.

All Wendy needs now is an Emmy-win or two , to seal the deal.

Q ... I need my new fix , you see?

The Angel Takes Flight Once more.

The Tyra Show will sing its swan song in the Spring of 2010.
Hey there. I want to share some news with you. This will be the last season of The Tyra Show. I've been loving having fun, coming into your living rooms, bedrooms, hair salons for the past 5 years. The thing is, The Tyra Show is not leaving because of YOU. Most times, a show leaves the air because not many people are watching. Well, you all ARE watching, in record numbers. You must know this love and support is always felt by me and it's given me the courage to take more exciting steps in my life. So I thank you for that.
~Tyra Banks

Banks made a point that her show currently aired on the CW is not being taken off air because of low viewership numbers. In fact, she noted people are watching her show "in record numbers."

Banks dropped a clue that she will be on to her "next huge steps" that will allow her to reach more women and young girls. Banks told her fans that her company Bankable is going to be launching Bankable Studios, a film production company. She also stressed that she is going with the "digital explosion" and her website Tyra.cm will become "a whole new digital Tyra.com world." Banks noted that she will stay on as the host of America's Next Top Model and True Beauty.

The show will be dearly missed.

The news comes after Oprah, announced that she would be ending her show in 2011.

Q... Looks like Wendy Williams will have the last laugh after all.

The Next Best Superstar

As 2010 looms ahead and signal that we're soon to exit the first decade of the new millennium, looking back at how the industry had evolved into an unpredictable, volatile and insanely competitive environment where marketing hype and packaging almost outshines talent, we look ahead and wonder who's gonna make it or break it in the NEXT decade.

The Top 5 Music artistes to look out for in the Next Decade.

1) Whitney Houston: After a 7-year absence, she’s back on top. What’s next on her cards to prove to the newer generation on what talent and diva-licious really mean and what does she still have in her?

2) Lady Gaga: She’s edgy and ground breaking in both her style and music and it’s to no one’s surprise that she’s likely the biggest star on the charts for the next decade. Or will she? Is she fucking crazy? Or fucking fabulous?

3) Shakira: How will the world be even more convinced of this multi-talented chanteuse?

4) Madonna: She’s celebrated her reign as Queen of Pop longer than anyone, what’s the next decade gonna be like for the Mother of Reinvention now that she’s left Warner Music, the very label that made her?

5) Susan Boyle: She’s the single biggest story of rags to riches, talent above all else. Her massive album sales says it all. Perhaps she’ll lead the way for a new generation with a genuine appreciation for talent, rather than looks and packaging?

Over-stayers Alert:

Britney, Rihanna, Beyonce and Mariah will still be around, though the fatigue the public has of them is getting as obvious as their shrinking creative space.

On that note, will Mariah finally bulldoze her way pass Elvis and The Beatles as the artiste with the most #1-hits on the Bill Board charts, given her sleepy release of her recent ‘Memoirs’ album which is indeed imperfect?

What’s next for these?

>What’s next for Janet who’s just launched her penultimate greatest hits and who now remains the only viable member of the Jackson clan on the charts?

When in fact, her recent songs are not making the waves like they used to simply because she cannot sing like Whitney or Mariah, not is as media savvy as Madonna nor deemed as hot as Britney and Beyonce?

>Will Lil Kim continue to reign as the Queen of Female Rap music? Is she making a comeback anytime?

>Will Kelly Clarkson remain the Queen of Idols?

>Will Alicia Keys and Leona Lewis indeed become the new ‘Whitneys’ for Clive Davis?

>Will Norah Jones continue to lead the way for the new generation of female Jazz vocalists?

>Will The Wonder Girls truly break into the International market next year? Or will they just be a one-hit wonder?

>Will Nicole Scherzinger finally get her (successful) solo break from The Pussy Cat Dolls?

>How will Vanessa Mae continue to redefine classical-pop music like she had for the most part of the last 2 decades?

>Will Ciara’s music career sink further into the abyss in the next decade?

>How will Jordin Sparks, Alessandra Burke and Keri Hilson define themselves more distinctly to finally earn the recognition they deserve?

> Will The Spice Girls make another comeback?

Q ... the stars are shining bright. Read the Signs.

Top 3 Albums of 2009

This is the final week of dreaded 2009.

The music got better and more manic than ever.

And the battle for chart dominance was never this intense and strenuous on both the artistes and their fans.

Well, as the year finally closes with such crecendo, let me state my 2 cents worth of this year's Top 3 Biggest Albums of 2009.

Holler vulgarities at me if you want :-)

At#1 : Whitney Houston 's 'I Look To you ' . Not surprisingly, it really did Debut at #1 on the Bill Board Charts. Classy and timeless and very well produced. Every song is single-worthy. No one sings like she does. Period.

At #2 : Lady Gaga 's 'The Fame Monster'; formaliac and precise. Another round of song-chart dominance for sure.

At#2 (it's a tie!): Shakira's 'She-Wolf' is sexy, thumping hot and very well produced. Her multi-talents, as usual shines through unmistakably. This girl should not be big. She should be Huge.

At #3: Susan Boyles's 'I Dreamed A Dream'; this here is pure inspiration , where talent and sheer will to succeed brought her here. Memorable.

There , if you're still scrambling to get fresh music before the year closes, these 4are must-gets and you can pretty much give Michael Jackson, a final rest-in-peace.

Q ... for god's sakes!

Round 2: Queens of the Talk show circuit

Wendy Williams; she and her usual freakish proportions that screams 'Man in drag wanting to look like Tyra'
Tyra Banks, ravishing as ever , as one of the world's biggest Supermodels should be.

Talk Show Divas are such A Drag

Tyra Banks

Wendy Williams

Now that Oprah has announced that her talk show is ending 2011, who's gonna fill her very big .... shoes, that is?

Tyra Banks, the Supermodel turned Talk show host-Media Mogul seems the eminent successor with sky rocketing viewership ratings and string of Emmy-wins.

Alas, there is Wendy Williams that is surely giving Banks some sleepless nights for sure.

Wendy, the famous radio personality and best selling author turned talk show host is seeing strong ratings as well.

Well, it's not hard to see why these two are battling their weaves out.

Their similarities are almost jarring.

>Both stand at 5' 10/11" (aka 'Monster girls') .

>Both have boobs big enough to eclipse Oprah's (and the tv screen) .

>Both have weaves so thick, you could get lost in there.

>And best of all, both are so drag-queen fabulous, it's like they are long-lost brothers, sorry, sisters I mean.

The Tyra Show confronts social issues mostly on top of celebrity interviews.

The Wendy Williams Show focuses mostly on celebrity gossip and interviews.

Well, the jury is out. And the public is lapping up just fine.

For me, Miss Former Victoria's Secrets will do. And only!

Q ... hmmm maybe a compromise ... Can someone get Supermodel 'Work' Rupaul on the phone now?

Let's AD-vocate This ,shall we?

It's a Civil Rights and Empathy issue.

Because Tyra says so . ^^

The last big challenge and fight against discrimination and true equality and respect.

Q ...everyone is EQUAL. Respect All . Respect The Individual.

Panda to Kung fu its way

Kungfu Panda

Geely . A car brand scoffed by all. Poor quality. Poor design. Low tech. 'Imitation stuff' .

I'm guilty too . I wouldnt be caught dead stepping out of one. Or be damned, they are so 'loose' I could be dead in one .... Gosh!

But things are looking up for this very established Chinese brand (them locally at least) .

2010 sees the launch of the Panda.

Finally, a compact Chinese car with the goods: The quality, the design inside and out and the up-to-date technology.

Things are looking up (and looking very cute) indeed.

Q .... this album is a must-have . It chronicles the rise of one of Music's Greatest of all time.

Beggars' Shoes are HOT.

Introducing :
Sanuk 'Sidewalk Surfers' .

The tag that came wit heach new pair reads these:

Tag line:
" THESE ARE NOT SHOES. THESE ARE SANDALS."

Disclaimer:
: " Sorry if you wer ehoping to find some hi-tech springs, coils , pumps or air-bags. You just won't find them here. After all walking naturally in these though, we're confident that you won't want ot wear anything else... but then again, what do we know? We're just a bunch of surfers in sandals."

These have got to be the ugliest but comfy-est pairs of lazy-ass loafers you could possibly own.

They are so anti-fashion , they are so cool.

These begger's foot wear are anything but dirt cheap.

They are hand-made and deliberately distressed .

So, in fact, prepare to foot (no pun intended) a princely sum for a pair.

You gotta have the attitude and style to pull these off (and a bit crazy to pay for one). Otherwise, the peeps at the fine dining will call the security.

And just maybe a coin will be tossed your way.

Dance Doyens

Shakira coos about getting out of the closet and let the animal out.

Britney suggests strongly a menage trois or a full on mass orgy.

Ga Ga roars about forbidden romances.

Beyonce seduces with phone and video sex.

Madonna just wants to have a great time on the dance floor (and the after party action).

They've all rocked the dance charts.

But who's gonna be the ultimate show-down diva on the dance floor, this year end?

Seoul Searching

The Koreans are winning the War it seems.

Just over a decade or so ago, they were the clowns of the motoring industry with their cheap and laughable products.

Well, clearly, the game has moved on and they are surely the forerunner for the 'Best Improved' award.

These days, they make spanking good cars with great design, fine quality and sound engineering.

Check these new boys on the block and you know the Koreans have had a lot of Beef.

Let's get real here.

The Chevrolet Cruze is a winning recipe and a big part of the ingredient is kimchi

The Kia Cerato Forte is undeniably hot. The Koup, is molten!

The all new Hyundai Tucson surely blew its own designers away. Let alone the competition.

Check out this link for greater photos of the sexy new Tucson!

http://www.oneshift.com/articles/viewarticlephoto.php?artid=614#3

Q ...Even the perennial favourite, the Kia Picanto is quite the hot pepper that paved ( and continues to do so) for cheap-but-oh-so-good urban runabouts.

And you smell over-priced products everywhere else.

The Queens of the Charts

It is the time of the year again where the last crop of big music artists launch their albums in a bid to have a slice of the eagerly buying Christmas/ Year-end crowd.

Where songstresses are concerned, the fickle and bitchy music world is their playground as they pout, pose and belt to their loyal subject of fans.

Launching rocking singles, glossy videos and snooping the competition with massive publicity stunts, collabos and other strategic moves all in the name of fame; who ranks higher up the charts and is snitching more of the consumer's money (yes, these days its all about the sex and the money isn't it?) is their modus operandi.

So here is a rather comprehensive list of the Big Mamas of today's music charts.

If she ain't on it, she ain't hot.

Listed, though not in any order or merit, with their most recent efforts:

1) Whitney Houston (I Look to you)*
2) Beyonce (I am Sasha Fierce)*
3) Mariah Carey (Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel)
4) Madonna (Celebration)*
5) Lady Gaga (The Fame Monster)*
6) Britney Spears (Circus & The Singles Collection)*
7) Christina Aguilera (Keeps Getting Better)
8) Rihanna (Rated R)*
9) Ciara(Fantasy Ride)
10) Leona Lewis (Best Kept Secret & Echo)*
11) Shakira (She-Wolf)*
12) Janet Jackson (Number Ones)
13) Alicia Keys (As I am)
14) Norah Jones (The Fall)
15) Jordin Sparks (Battlefield)
16) Fergie ( The End ; with The Black Eyed Peas)
17) Nicole Scherzinger ( Doll Domination ; with The Pussy Cat Dolls)*

(Those with * are particularly splendid this year)

And please, no Miss Miley ok?

And certainly, not Michael Jackson, Elton John or Adam Lambert.

I know I could be lambasted by loyal fans for those Divaaaaasss who didn't make it in. Sorry and ... may not.

Q

She's A Monster!

A Monster on the charts , that is .

This Lady of song is getting huge.

And you thought The Fame was good enough for a season of partying.

Then she's back to rock the charts once again.

There's no stopping this talented chanteuse.

Nothing bad about this romance we 're all having with her and music, for sure.

Q
PS: If you haven't already fallen in love with her smash song and video , Bad Romance, you really shouldn't be here. You'd think Gaga was a man in drag or something ....

Never too Much Ego

Behold , this is one of my favourite cars of all time.

The Rinspeed Mono Ego.

Quoting Serious Wheels:

World Première at the 1997 Geneva Motor Show.
Rinspeed Mono Ego – the First Single-seater Car in the World that's Licensed for the Road!

To celebrate the twentieth anniversary of the Rinspeed Design AG company
, Frank M. Rinderknecht (41) has come up with something very special: the Swiss automobile tuner has created a vehicle that blends traditional beauty and forward-looking technology in a most impressive way – the Rinspeed Mono Ego.

The Style:
Fashion designer Jean-Charles de Castelbajac, who numbers champagne producer Pommery among his clients, has transformed the Mono Ego into a mobile work of art, gleaming in the colors of the tricolore and decorated with miniature angels and other emblems created specially for the Mono Ego. The leather seat, for instance, has a transparent cover into which colored feathers have been sewn. A more exclusive sense of style would be difficult to find on the automobile scene!

To display the artistry of Jean-Charles de Castelbajac in its full splendor, Burg Design digitized all the design material by a special high-tech process. This Austrian company concentrates on decor requirements for special-series vehicles and on high-tech interior applications. Among the processes it has developed is Evotec, which gives decals a three-dimensional visual effect. It is used on the Mono Ego to render the close-fitting fenders almost invisible; a cleverly simulated tire tread effect adds to the optical illusion.

The Tires:
The Dunlop company contributed the tires: as one of the world's largest manufacturers of tires for high-volume motor vehicles and also of high-performance tires, it possesses an immense amount of experience. Frank M. Rinderknecht explains: "At the moment, no production tires of the size we needed are available, and so we had to approach a manufacturer capable of responding flexibly and rapidly to our request. Dunlop certainly lived up to its high reputation here.

The Wheels:
Antera took up the challenge of producing wheels to carry these special Dunlop tires. An Italian company, it is famous for its avant-garde wheel designs and for the unusual technical principles which it adopts. For example, the tire valve is hidden behind the hub cover so that the wheel's overall appearance is not affected by the valve protruding from the rim.

The suspension:
In the running-gear area, Rinspeed was able to call upon the services of the Eibach company, the leading international manufacturer of suspension components. Eibach Suspension Technology, which as its name implies specializes in such matters and supplies the world's top motor sport entrants including the McLaren Formula 1 team, undertook to develop the suspension struts and stabilizers for the Rinspeed Mono Ego. Eibach certainly justified its reputation: for the Mono Ego it designed competition shock absorbers with four adjustment settings – a world première.

The Exhaust system:
Austrian specialist company Remus developed a free-flow exhaust system for the Rinspeed Mono Ego.

The Sound Insulation:
The Swiss company Rieter Automotive Systems provided the floor carpeting, of truly magnificent quality, for the Rinspeed Mono Ego.

The Interior:
The German Classic Interiors company took on the task of finishing the interior to the highest possible standards.

The miscellaneous components:
The headlights, rear lights and mirrors are among the few components not crafted by hand for the Mono Ego. They are taken from the Hyundai Tiburon Coupé.

The ICE:
Thanks to a hi-fi radio and CD installation from Philips Car Systems, the open-topped Rinspeed Mono Ego none the less achieves high standards of audio reproduction. Nor does the driver have to feel that he or she is alone in the wide, wide world: Carin is a sympathetic companion on the longest journeys. This is the name given to Philips Car Systems' first class navigation system

The Builder:
TLC Carossiers Inc. Took on the task of building up the complete Rinspeed Mono Ego.

The Transporter:
The air-freight specialist Lufthansa carried out the safe, reliable and timely transport of the Mono Ego to make a flawless and on-time debut in front of the world press in Geneva.

The Techs:
Under the dramatic body, power is supplied in plenty by a 32-valve aluminum-block V8 engine; it is supercharged and develops no less than 410 bhp (maximum boost pressure 0.35 bar).

This engine whisks the single-seater Mono Ego from a standstill to 100 km/h in only 4.8 seconds, with a top speed of 258 km/h attainable when conditions permit.

The aluminum body gives the Mono Ego an exceptionally rigid structure and a gross weight of only 960 kilograms, with the result that its power-to-weight ratio would be the envy of many a driver of exclusive Italian sports cars.

The Rinspeed Mono Ego is 4623 millimeters long, almost equaling a Mercedes-Benz E, for instance, yet about 700 kg lighter.

It has a 5-speed manual-shift gearbox, and independent suspension all round with 16-inch wheels and tires of unusual sizes (245/65 at the front, 275/70 at the rear).

____________________________________________________________________________
An Amazing work of art.

And so limited , you have to be only marginally south of Mr Gates to own one.

That's a lot of Ego there.

Q
