Loose Canon ... Again: Mariah is having Twins!!!!

Nick Cannon has confirmed he and Mariah Carey are expecting twins.

The 30-year-old presenter told listeners to his 92.3 Now radio show on Thursday (16.12.10) that he wanted to end speculation and gossip about the pregnancy and revealed they are having two babies.

He said: 'In order for my wife and I to have our life, we need to be up front and I need to be able to share things with you and be real.

'I didn't even tell my wife I was gonna do this. I'm probably gonna get yelled at for not getting permission ... We are having twins!'

Nick went on to reveal that the only other people who knew the couple are having twins were US President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle after Mariah broke the news during the recent taping of a White House Christmas special.

He added: 'They, ironically enough, questioned my wife about, you know, 'So, what are you having, are you having twins?'

'And at this point she hadn't told anybody anything because doctors advised us to keep it to ourselves until we get further along. And because of the excitement, because of the emotion, she was overwhelmed and she shared with the President and First Lady that we are having twins.'

Mariah, 40, sparked speculation she was carrying twins during a recent radio interview while promoting her Christmas album, 'Merry Christmas II You'.

When answering a question, she said: 'I just hope that they don't turn out hating Christmas!'

Q....Sure, Canon, Mariah will hate you instead someday.

P.S : Check out Mariah's new music video for 'Auld Lang Syne' (Fireworks) on Youtube!!!!

Her first single 'Oh Santa!' is already a #1 hit.

Queens of Qristmas

When Mariah launched her original christmas CD ( any chanteuse worth her voice would have at least one ) , her 'All I want for Christmas is You' song went on to become the single most successful holiday song in history.

It's a feat no one can top. But herself.

Years later, she's recreated her christmas album with brand new material, similar cover and another big christmas hit. Way to go Mariah.

Everyone thought her's was a shoo-on to be this years biggest Christmas album so who would think dowdy Susan Boyle would have yet another hat trick and score a consecutive hit record with 'The Gift.'

Surely , these two are this year's biggest Christmas divas.

On a hind-note, Whitney Houston's 'One Wish' album is worh mentioning.

It came at a time, her hoopla was bigger than her vocal hoops.

But really, this album, is really good and could well be that one wish you were waiting for all holiday season. Grab one and fall in love with Whitney all over again.

Comeback Sistas

Trina

Trina was never in the same league as Lil Kim.

Something was was never quite right but this time,
she's coming back with a vengence. Giving Beyonce a dead-ringer of a sister even more so than Solange ever was. Indeed Amazing.

Kelis

You know, she was big. But we also know , she could have been bigger. Her last two efforts, were ho hum because preganancy grounded her.

This time, she made her pregnancy a weopon against the likes of Ultra Nate and Lady Gaga. Brilliant move.

Toni Braxton

She was right up there with Whitney, Celine and Mariah. Almost.

While her more shining luminaries went on to achieve super stardom with their dramatics, Miss Braxton mellowed with her mellow drama.

Then a string of ho hum moves saw her go stale even further for a couple of years.

Now, it seems, she's found her pulse once more. Hear her drum it up again.

It's going to be interesting if anyone of these girls will even match up remotely to Whitney Houston's humongous comeback last year with her world wide best selling No. 1 album , 'I Look To you'.

One will suspect, not so. But still , one must appaud their efforts.

Q... welcome back sistas.

Better Late than Never?

On January 22, 2010, it was announced that Sunmi would be postponing her musical career to pursue an academic career; Hye-rim (Lim), a JYP trainee, will take her place.

Sunmi has yet to make her official departure from the group, for she will continue as a member of the Wonder Girls through the month of February in order to complete scheduled events.

The Wonder Girls are currently preparing their debut English album, with half (6 tracks) to consist of English versions of Korean singles and the other half of brand new material, initially scheduled for release in February 2010.

They were also planning to have a headlining tour in January 2010; however, due to the departure of Sunmi, plans for both the tour and the album were delayed.~Wikipedia

Me thinks:

1) I will cearly miss Sunmi, she was a big part of the group; she was a lead singer. I wish her well and all the best to her academically.

2) I wish Hye the best of luck for she's got big shoes to fill.

3) When will the album be out?! They are almost 2 months late! " I want nobody nobody but you..."

Top 3 Albums of 2009

This is the final week of dreaded 2009.

The music got better and more manic than ever.

And the battle for chart dominance was never this intense and strenuous on both the artistes and their fans.

Well, as the year finally closes with such crecendo, let me state my 2 cents worth of this year's Top 3 Biggest Albums of 2009.

Holler vulgarities at me if you want :-)

At#1 : Whitney Houston 's 'I Look To you ' . Not surprisingly, it really did Debut at #1 on the Bill Board Charts. Classy and timeless and very well produced. Every song is single-worthy. No one sings like she does. Period.

At #2 : Lady Gaga 's 'The Fame Monster'; formaliac and precise. Another round of song-chart dominance for sure.

At#2 (it's a tie!): Shakira's 'She-Wolf' is sexy, thumping hot and very well produced. Her multi-talents, as usual shines through unmistakably. This girl should not be big. She should be Huge.

At #3: Susan Boyles's 'I Dreamed A Dream'; this here is pure inspiration , where talent and sheer will to succeed brought her here. Memorable.

There , if you're still scrambling to get fresh music before the year closes, these 4are must-gets and you can pretty much give Michael Jackson, a final rest-in-peace.

Q ... for god's sakes!

The Queens of the Charts

It is the time of the year again where the last crop of big music artists launch their albums in a bid to have a slice of the eagerly buying Christmas/ Year-end crowd.

Where songstresses are concerned, the fickle and bitchy music world is their playground as they pout, pose and belt to their loyal subject of fans.

Launching rocking singles, glossy videos and snooping the competition with massive publicity stunts, collabos and other strategic moves all in the name of fame; who ranks higher up the charts and is snitching more of the consumer's money (yes, these days its all about the sex and the money isn't it?) is their modus operandi.

So here is a rather comprehensive list of the Big Mamas of today's music charts.

If she ain't on it, she ain't hot.

Listed, though not in any order or merit, with their most recent efforts:

1) Whitney Houston (I Look to you)*
2) Beyonce (I am Sasha Fierce)*
3) Mariah Carey (Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel)
4) Madonna (Celebration)*
5) Lady Gaga (The Fame Monster)*
6) Britney Spears (Circus & The Singles Collection)*
7) Christina Aguilera (Keeps Getting Better)
8) Rihanna (Rated R)*
9) Ciara(Fantasy Ride)
10) Leona Lewis (Best Kept Secret & Echo)*
11) Shakira (She-Wolf)*
12) Janet Jackson (Number Ones)
13) Alicia Keys (As I am)
14) Norah Jones (The Fall)
15) Jordin Sparks (Battlefield)
16) Fergie ( The End ; with The Black Eyed Peas)
17) Nicole Scherzinger ( Doll Domination ; with The Pussy Cat Dolls)*

(Those with * are particularly splendid this year)

And please, no Miss Miley ok?

And certainly, not Michael Jackson, Elton John or Adam Lambert.

I know I could be lambasted by loyal fans for those Divaaaaasss who didn't make it in. Sorry and ... may not.

Q

She's A Monster!

A Monster on the charts , that is .

This Lady of song is getting huge.

And you thought The Fame was good enough for a season of partying.

Then she's back to rock the charts once again.

There's no stopping this talented chanteuse.

Nothing bad about this romance we 're all having with her and music, for sure.

Q
PS: If you haven't already fallen in love with her smash song and video , Bad Romance, you really shouldn't be here. You'd think Gaga was a man in drag or something ....

Oops! She did it Again and Again and Again.

Even a hardcore fan would sense deja vu .

Just as we thought her 2 consecutive 'comebacks' (great marketing ploy there) with 'Blackout' and 'Circus' were not enough a massive onslaught to her industry rivals, she launched yet another album mere months after the mentioned two.

You can see this girl is getting serious in maintaining her chart dominance ( and continue to make enough money to feed several third world nations or just the USA).

It's her second greatest hits album.

'My Prerogative' was a big one.

Then now, to celebrate her 10th anniversary (betchu didn't see that coming did you) in the messy world of the music business, she launched , just time for the holiday season shopping climate,
Britney: The Singles Collection.

It starts off with a bang with '3' her surprise Billboard chart #1-hit debut.
(Just how did she managed that coup?!)

Then followed by a slew of her past singles arranged in chronological order.

Clearly , Jive records wants to milk her worth and rival her with Madonna's Celebration album .

God bless Britney. She's selling out faster than hot toast.

She's not a girl. But an old woman now.
Metaphorically speaking.

She-wolf is WOOO

One of the Best Albums this year.

Right up there with Whitney's 'I Look To You' and Madonna's 'Celebration'.

Rocking . Thumbing. Sexy.

The talent that she is, is mind boggling.

It's little surprise that the album , 'She-Wolf' went straight to #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 Albums Charts.

Q... totally enthralled.

PS: And yes, her first single, the explosive 'She-wolf' sure is a hit with the LGBT crowd!

Other killer tracks to look out for:
1) 'Why Wait'
2) 'Men in This Town'
3) Spy
4) Loba

Battle of the Divas

It's been 4eva since I posted anything here.

So lets restart with a Bang.^^)

This month is the Battle of the Divas,I tell ya.

Vanessa Williams, the beauty who was the first Black to Win Miss America, finally has new material after all these years of silence and Ugly Betty.

Her 'The Real Thing' got critical acclaim and is doing well.

Louder and bigger (of course) is Whitney Houston .

Whitney launched her much anticipated comeack album , 'I Look To You' to much fan fare 2 weeks ago.

Well, it making a #1 debut on the Album charts on the Billboard Hot 100 and world wide as a matter of fact , proves, she's back !

And the world's accepting.

With big songs like the title track , the very intimate 'I Look to you' , the catchy 'Million Dollar Bill', the touching 'I Didn't Know my Own Stength' amongst others, (with my personal favourite 'Worth It' ) , it's easy to see how Whitney has traded lung power (still loads of it btw) for somthing more urban and connecting.

Brilliant. Surely one of the best albums and Grammy shoo-ins this year.
Madonna, on the other hand , just launched her third Greatest Hits collection, after her title track, the very nice (and me thinks is indeed one of her best songs thus far, up there with 'Hung Up' and 'Music') , 'Celebration'.

A very well-packaged album with posters and double Cds of her biggest hits from her long career (very heavy, yes) .

A much-needed reprieve from the ho hum Hard Candy.

Just like what 'GHV2' had to do with the damage caused by 'American Life', a couple of years back.

Well, this time, I can safely report that 'Celebration' is a much better album than even 'GHV2'. So, indeed, take heart. Maddie learnt her lessons (just).

Well , Beyonce on the other hand, just had her much banging performance at Singapore's F1 Night Race which the whole world was bound to have been watching.

And it also coincides with her launch of The Platinum edition for the recent Sasha album.

What next? Diamond Ed? This girl is manic, I tell ya.

I would have to say , well, Nippy and Maddie's albums are just a stamp to show who's the real deal amoungst a sea of Beyonces, Britneys, Rihannas and GaGas we have today

Well done!

Whitney , especially, she's in control and knows that a good effort is a Precise and concise effort.

The Wait is over.

Queen of the Night to take over King of Pop

Whitney Houston is set to take over Michael Jackson's London shows.

The the multi platinum best selling artist has a new record due out this year, and is being lined up for 23 of the dates the 'King of Pop' - who died of a suspected cardiac arrest on June 25 - was due to perform at The O2 arena early next year.

'Whitney Houston has been on the O2 arena wish-list for a while - she has the voice and hits to sell the arena out several times over.'

Michael had been scheduled to play 50 dates at the venue starting earlier this month and stretching into next year.

If the plan goes ahead, Whitney, could stage shows in January, February and March 2010.

She is expected to play greatest hits sets as well as her new material.

Whitney's 'I Look to You' comes out in August, and is her first new studio LP in the last few years.

Q .... It's only right and fitting since Whitney's album 'The Bodyguard' is the world's 2nd biggest selling album after Michael's 'Thriller'.

Happy 4th July !!!

Happy 4 July !!!!!!

No one sings the Star Spangled Banner better than Whitney Houston ...

After all, it is the only version ever to make it up all the way to the Top 5 of the American Billboard Hot 100 charts, and making it the one and only song ever written in the 18th century to chart.

Not to mention, having sold over 4 million copies , it is one of the Top 3 biggest selling singles of all time.

(Just FYI: The Second-Biggest selling single of all time 'I Will Always Love You' was also song by Ms. Houston and first being that most-annoying 'Candle In the Wind' by Queen Elton John)

Befitting achievements as mountainous as her souring vocals in the song. Amazing.

Can't wait for her new come-back album out this year.^^)

It's Saturday!

Okay, it's not. Sadly.

I wish.

But I'm just getting quite hyped up by this new girl group called The Satudays.

Not since EnVogue has there been another girl group that quite harks back to the good ole 60's for inspiration for their public image and personas.

Quite the fashionistas as you guessed it.

Music-wise, they are your typical girl group not unlike Sugar Babes, TLC, All Saints ,Destiny's Child, Girls Aloud and Danity Kane.

Not as wild as The Spice Girls or Pussy Cat Dolls, but still, highly likeable.

These girls can pose and pout like the best of them.

Be the Bird. Be the Bee.

I'm totally head-over-heels-over this group right now.

The Bird and the Bee is an indie/pop/alternative musical duo from Los Angeles, consisting of musicians Greg Kurstin ("bee") and Inara George ("bird").

Their hit album :

The big hit lead single:

Retrofied. Subtle. Style mavens. Class act.

Watch their performances live on Kimmel or Ellen and you'd be totally smitten by these muses.

They are spot on good. Inspiring. Engaging. A joy.

Finally, true artists comfortable in their element.

Q.. no words to describe their finesse.

Comeback Queen of the Night

Move over Britney, Whitney Houston is ready to take the title of comeback queen.

And David Foster, the legendary hit-maker for stars ranging from Barbra Streisand and Celine Dion to Madonna and Michael Jackson, is finally talking about his reunion with the superstar.

Foster collaborated with Houston on the blockbuster soundtrack single "I Will Always Love You." He knows fans are wondering if she's ready to resume her hugely successful career after years battling her personal demons.

Q: You and Whitney are finally together again. How is she doing?

David Foster: I was in the studio with her last week. She's in great shape and she looks good. We have this fantastic song that Diane Warren wrote and we went in and recorded it. It went really well. Her work ethic was exactly the way it was when we did the song for The Bodyguard. She worked incredibly hard for two nights and we came up with something really good.

Q: Whitney has been through some tough times. Do you think she has her life and career back on track?

DF: I think she's going to have a great album out within the year. Whitney is a girl that everybody would like to see come back and, in this case, it really would be a comeback. A lot of people say, 'Come back? I never left.' But Whitney did leave and she hasn't recorded in about 10 years, I believe. So this truly would be a comeback.

Songwriter Diane Warren had something to say about the the song she wrote for Houston.

Q: What's the song about, Diane?

Diane Warren: I don't usually write music with someone in mind. But I set out to write this song specifically for Whitney and it's called "I Didn't Know My Own Strength." It definitely touches on her life, but I think a lot of people will relate to it because they've gone through hard times too.

Q: How was her performance?

DW: I was praying that Whitney was going to be able to nail it and she exceeded my expectations. She sang the s*** out of that song. Seriously, it was amazing. I'll tell you something, Whitney is back. Let there be no doubt.

Just like a Circus

Britney's much hyped about come-back is going quite well.

Her 'Womanizer' single is still all over the charts however rubbish and 80's-lame it is.

Her next single 'Circus' (hence the album's name-sake track) is doing rather fine too.

Quite ingenius a song really.

For her to really get back on her feet, she went back to her roots and collaborated with Max Martin, the producer who made her big in the first place with songs like 'Baby one More Time' , 'Crazy' and 'Lucky' ; her well-known showy dance numbers.

The song obviously hints at her loose love life (if you're not intimidated by her star presence you could apparently hook up with her quite easily she says) , pop-star train wreck tendencies and the media swirl that she is.

And yet, brings focus to her favourite place and comfort zone, the dance floor. Where her narcissistic streak is rampant and sexy-wild.

Lyrics:

"There's only two types of people in the world
The ones that entertain, and the ones that observe
Well baby, I'm a put on a show kind of girl
Don't like the back seat, gotta be first

I'm like the ring leader, I call the shots
I'm like a firecracker, I make it hot
When I put on a show

I feel the adrenaline moving through my veins
Spotlight on me and I'm ready to break
I'm like a performer, the dance floor is my stage
Better be ready, hope that you feel the same

All eyes on me in the center of the ring,
Just like a circus

When I crack that whip, everybody gonna trip,
Just like a circus
Don't stand there watching me, follow me,
Show me what you can do
Everybody let go, we can make a dance floor,
Just like a circus

There's only two types of guys out there
Ones that can hang with me, and ones that are scared
So baby, I hope that you came prepared
I run a tight ship, so beware

I'm like the ring leader, I call the shots
I'm like a firecracker, I make it hot
When I put on a show

I feel the adrenaline moving through my veins
Spotlight on me and I'm ready to break
I'm like a performer, the dance floor is my stage
Better be ready, hope that you feel the same

All eyes on me in the center of the ring,
Just like a circus

When I crack that whip, everybody gonna trip,
Just like a circus
Don't stand there watching me, follow me,
Show me what you can do
Everybody let go, we can make a dance floor,
Just like a circus

Let's go
A-a-aha
Let me see what you can do
A-a-aha
I'm runnin' this
Like, like, like like a circus
Yeah
Like a what?
Like, like, like a circus

All eyes on me in the center of a ring,
Just like a circus
When I crack that whip, everybody gonna trip,
Just like a circus
Don't stand there watching me, follow me,
Show me what you can do
Everybody let go, we can make a dance floor,
Just like a circus

All eyes on me in the center of a ring,
Just like a circus
When I crack that whip, everybody gonna trip,
Just like a circus
Don't stand there watching me, follow me,
Show me what you can do
Everybody let go, we can make a dance floor,
Just like a circus"

The Britney we love to hate and hate to love is back... dancin.

Going Gaga over her?

Not really.

Her music is electro pop ; like an updated 80's track record.

Formaliac. Great sounding but ultimately, lacking in emotion and connection.

More pop than grind.

Don't get me wrong , she's not bad a singer and producer and her Fame album, is really quite the self-indulgent streak as it is.

It keeps my mood up but does little to make me excited, just to say.

Her image? You do wonder what all the hype is about. She's the next stylista since Madonna , apparently.

Ok , seriously, my take is that she's kinda trashy. Strange. And certainly, not pretty or easy on the eyes.

She's all over the place.

Much like street-walker gone wrong.

More in the hood than from the hoodlum.

So no, I'm not hatin this new girl on the block, she's good in her own kinky way, but no, I'm not going GaGa.
