National Crotch Issue

The Singapore water polo boys are always in such spot light.

Both for their prowess in the pool and out of it ( whatever that means....) .

The recent ASEAN games , saw them making a bigger splash in the media than in the pool though.

Bad move and bad press comes with bad taste when you but your country's national flag on your crotch.

One netizen mentioned, about putting your own face on your crotch. And you know why this is rude.

I'm open minded. But even this, is too much show.

Q... what's your take?

Fame Game Shame

Slut-Alert: Foyce Le Xuan
On May 25, partygoers and the club's employees watched while Foyce Le Xuan and a woman who calls herself X-Tin Lim in her blog confronted Chung, who was screamed at, slapped and kicked in the groin.

Singapore's showbusiness circle is buzzing after well-known Cantopop singer Jason Chung, 38, was reportedly beaten up last month by two young women outside Dragonfly club in St James Power Station, where he performs.

One of the women involved in the fracas is aspiring singer Foyce Le Xuan, 30, who in March claimed she had spurned veteran film-maker Jack Neo's advances after he allegedly hit on her in 2004.

The women had to be pulled away by the club's female employees.

Chung, who is the frontman of Singapore's premier Cantopop band Typhoon, allegedly cheated on both of them.

This here is minx that cried crocodile tears and said she 'should not have done it' (revealing to the media about her involvement with famed movie director Jack Neo) and that 'she didn't know it will cause him and his family so much grievances'.

Now, her assault of a pop star in full view of countless people, for yet another alleged cheating.

This girl, is a total whore. Period.

A fame-chasing slut.

She's not even pretty to begin with, Just says so much more .

Sex and The City 2

Fun. Fashion. Friendship. Fornification. Fabulous.

You can't argue with that.

Having watched it (very big crowds!), I must say, if a trilogy is not all ready in the pipe works, I don't know what the executives are thinking.

They must be straight or boring.

SITC 2 : Sarah Jessica Parker is at it again. Lovely.

Fashionistas delight.

A show on sisterhood (whatever it means in your context. Ahem.)and a fashion slut-fest.

Baby-boomers and cougars will surely flock to the big screens to catch up with their dosage of what fed them their fashion-fueled youths.

But , no, snap out of it , you can't live their lives.

We 've all got real lives to lead, lack of sleep, problems, bad hair, eye bags and all and bills to pay.

We won't be jet-setting to Dubai anytime soon and we won't be affording designer togs with our pay cheques.

The Growing P!nk Dot vs.the Little Red Dot.

It was a sea of Pinks.

A day of brave souls in a place of hostility and discrimination.

It was a day to show the world that many support the move for free love regardless of race, language or religion or orientation. Whatever equality means to one.

The Pink is growing. Twice as fast in fact.

I wasnt there .

Does Your Mother Know?

Happy Mother's Day .

Let's be honest, we have all had our multiple gripes of our mums. '

We have all b*tched about them at one time ( or many times) or another .

But they are who they are. Mums.

Celebrate their worth. Make them Queen of the Night even for a single night.

Honour their role. And their place in the family.

We won't be here. Not without them.

Losing my Mind

Taking care of a post-stroke patient, with their impulses, ill-tempers and erratic behaviors, is almost worst than the stroke itself.

I should know.

Breaking point. Sooner.

Saving Graces

Chevy Cruze

Opel Insignia

The economy was at crashing point and the auto giants that ruled the 80's to early 2000's saw their customers dwindle and their drafts ballooning.

General Motors now has the Opel Insignia to point it's guns and rivals insight.

Chevrolet has got the Cruze to cruise through the competition . Trample over , even.

Well done.

Salty Family Jewels

I used to hate Macarons.

To me they were so revoltingly sweet to the point of almost insulting.

Not to mention, so awfully expensive.

Thus, for the longest time, other than admiring the candy colours, I laid my hands of these french sins.

Until recently, a friend of mine, who abs-olutely loves them to hell, started introducing me other places about town that does amazing macarons.

And , I totally agree.

I am in love with the Passion fruit version and especially , so , the Salted Egg flavour.

Sounds weird yeah, the latter one. But trust me on this, it tastes to die-for.

Salty and sweet makes it so irresistibly savoury .

Where to get one at $2 per pop ( yes, at least this time, the amazing taste makes it justifiable!)?

This exquisite place called 'Jewels' at Orchard Central, along Orchard Road, Singapore; Singapore's tallest mall.

It's all about the Journey not the destination?

Dodge Calibre

Chrysler/Dodge Journey
For the stylish , athletic and maverick man who's moved on to having a couple of kids.

What used to satisfy his independant , rough and tumble needs with the Dodge Calibre cross-over SUV, he now needs more space for the kids and family dog (and the occasional furniture and annoying grandparents) , and yet , he is not at the high-and-might executive-end (meaning old) with lounging-needs for a business class seating of the legendary Chrysler Voyager, he now has the Chrysler Journey.

Chrysler Voyager

A very effective mid-point for his driving needs for the car possesses the brutish charm of the Calibre with almost the space and luxury of the Voyager.

Don't expect sports car-like performance and handling .

This is a giant willowy SUV-MPV to cruise effortlessly and non-excitedLy , eating the miles with no fuss or thrills.

Yes, the family can who needs to move on but hopelessly clings to his macho Calibre-days.

Perfect.

Q... clearly not a Subaru Exiga GT/ Ford S-Max/ Honda Odyssey rival. Just simply a good ole American ride.

Where is the Heart, Doc?

Doctors.

You think of adjectives like 'caring' ,'compassionate' and 'professional'.

Until you realise how they crowd around patients and talk sh*t about their conditions and how pathetic they are and how it doesnt matter one bit that their loved ones are within ear-shot , bleeding at every words they say.

I know . I'd just been through it.

These doctors have stethoscopes but forget to hear their own heart beats.

Q ... bastards. I curse the day they become patients lying there themselves.

Fierce for Success

As the world turns its back on rough-and-tumble SUVs for their lack of refinement, environmental unconsciousness and the very common sense that most peep don't live next to a barn, and when the common car , is too anaemic for the adventurous urban jungle warrior, the cross-over 'soft-roader' has been the ideal sweet spot that car manufacturers have .

Mitsubishi , from the looks of things, their new competitor in this hotly contested segment in the market , the RVR (the new 2010 that is, not the old thing of yore-and-ions ago) .

Taking a hint from the very aggressive ( and very successful)shark-visage of the Lancer, and a rear end not too disimilar to the Audi Q3.

So , what you get is a winner .

Cannot wait til it hits the show rooms this year . And soon . Lovely.

Will this new O add to the MG?

Opel Insignia

Check Spec:
-2.0L Turbo producing 220BHP
-6-speed auto with manual select.
-0-100kmh in 7 sec
-Car of The Year 2009.

Many reviewers have applauded this car as the best in class be it comfort, drive , build-qualty or design, than literally all in this junior executive be it the Honda Accord, Toyota Camry, Ford Mondeo, VW Passat or even the BMW 3-series.

Only in price , has Opel lost the plot a bit ( or a lot) . It is almost 30% too expensive to compete well with its rivals.

Only time will tell, if this car is gonna finally pull Opel out from under the other much more vaunted German brands like Mercedes , BMW , Volkswagen and Audi.

will I want one? Yes to drive . To own? Give me a Volkwagen Passat CC or Renault Laguna Coupe , both of which costs thousands cheaper ....

Q.. ...See my point?

Battle of the Divas

It's been 4eva since I posted anything here.

So lets restart with a Bang.^^)

This month is the Battle of the Divas,I tell ya.

Vanessa Williams, the beauty who was the first Black to Win Miss America, finally has new material after all these years of silence and Ugly Betty.

Her 'The Real Thing' got critical acclaim and is doing well.

Louder and bigger (of course) is Whitney Houston .

Whitney launched her much anticipated comeack album , 'I Look To You' to much fan fare 2 weeks ago.

Well, it making a #1 debut on the Album charts on the Billboard Hot 100 and world wide as a matter of fact , proves, she's back !

And the world's accepting.

With big songs like the title track , the very intimate 'I Look to you' , the catchy 'Million Dollar Bill', the touching 'I Didn't Know my Own Stength' amongst others, (with my personal favourite 'Worth It' ) , it's easy to see how Whitney has traded lung power (still loads of it btw) for somthing more urban and connecting.

Brilliant. Surely one of the best albums and Grammy shoo-ins this year.
Madonna, on the other hand , just launched her third Greatest Hits collection, after her title track, the very nice (and me thinks is indeed one of her best songs thus far, up there with 'Hung Up' and 'Music') , 'Celebration'.

A very well-packaged album with posters and double Cds of her biggest hits from her long career (very heavy, yes) .

A much-needed reprieve from the ho hum Hard Candy.

Just like what 'GHV2' had to do with the damage caused by 'American Life', a couple of years back.

Well, this time, I can safely report that 'Celebration' is a much better album than even 'GHV2'. So, indeed, take heart. Maddie learnt her lessons (just).

Well , Beyonce on the other hand, just had her much banging performance at Singapore's F1 Night Race which the whole world was bound to have been watching.

And it also coincides with her launch of The Platinum edition for the recent Sasha album.

What next? Diamond Ed? This girl is manic, I tell ya.

I would have to say , well, Nippy and Maddie's albums are just a stamp to show who's the real deal amoungst a sea of Beyonces, Britneys, Rihannas and GaGas we have today

Well done!

Whitney , especially, she's in control and knows that a good effort is a Precise and concise effort.

The Wait is over.

Still Fabulous?

Tanning beds now rank alongside cigarettes and asbestos as a top-level cancer threat, the World Health Organisation's cancer research agency announced Wednesday.

Classified in 1992 and a "probable" cancer agent, research since then has left no doubt that soaking up UV rays at tanning salons significantly enhances the chances of developing the disease, the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) found.

"The use of sunbeds is carcinogenic to humans. It causes melanoma of the skin, and melanoma of the eye," said Vincent Cogliano, an IARC researcher who led the new assessment.

"I cannot see any reason why a healthy person should use them," he told AFP by phone.

The risk of melanoma -- the most lethal form of skin cancer -- increases by 75 percent when use of tanning devices starts before the age of 30, according to the findings, published in the British medical journal The Lancet Oncology.

The link between artificial tanning devices and cancer is not new. The WHO and national health agencies have long cautioned against using sunbeds, much as they have warned about the ill effects of overexposure to the sun.

But threshold of scientific proof is high, and required additional research on animals as well as epidemiological studies of cancer rates among humans before sunbeds could be labeled -- along with tobacco, asbestos and alcohol -- as a carcinogen.

Cogliano said it is not the IARC's role to issue recommendations, but that he hoped the new evaluation would focus attention on the issue.

"We are not a regulatory agency. We publish the scientific results so that the public health agencies can take action as they see fit."

Physicians hailed the decision, and called for tighter regulations for the multi-billion dollar tanning industry.

"We welcome the recognition that sunbeds are carcinogenic," said Nina Goad, spokeswoman for the British Association of Dermatologists.

"It is high time that steps were taken to regulate the industry, to prevent children using sunbeds, and to ensure that sunbeds are subject to health warnings like other known carcinogens."

"We have been trying for a long time to call the attention of the government to the potential risks," said George Reuter, head of France's National Union of Dermatologists.

The tubes emitting UV rays vary in intensity and can "become more dangerous over time," highlighting the need for stricter oversight, he told AFP.

Both associations stopped short of calling for an outright ban.

"The solution is to inform the public, not to outlaw sunbeds," said Reuter, adding that many dermatologists in France tell their patients not to exceed 10 sessions in year.

Those who use the devices to stay tanned year round are especially at risk, he added.

"People have the right to make their own health choices. Other known carcinogens are not banned, so I don't think you want to set a precedent with sunbeds," Goad said by phone.

Sunbeds are more common in northern Europe and the United States than most other regions. According to a survey conducted last year, some 14 million Germans aged 18 to 45 use them, with a quarter starting before the age of 17.

Earlier studies indicate that nearly a quarter of the adult population in many European countries -- including France, Belgium, Germany and Sweden -- have used sunbeds, which emit a higher concentration of UV rays than sunlight.

The sunbed association, and industry lobby group based in Britain, disputed the IARC's reclassification of tanning devices as carcinogenic to humans.

"The relationship between UV exposure and an increased risk of developing skin cancer is only likely to arise where over-exposure -- i.e. burning -- has taken place," it said in a statement.
