Oops! She did it Again and Again and Again.

Even a hardcore fan would sense deja vu .

Just as we thought her 2 consecutive 'comebacks' (great marketing ploy there) with 'Blackout' and 'Circus' were not enough a massive onslaught to her industry rivals, she launched yet another album mere months after the mentioned two.

You can see this girl is getting serious in maintaining her chart dominance ( and continue to make enough money to feed several third world nations or just the USA).

It's her second greatest hits album.

'My Prerogative' was a big one.

Then now, to celebrate her 10th anniversary (betchu didn't see that coming did you) in the messy world of the music business, she launched , just time for the holiday season shopping climate,
Britney: The Singles Collection.

It starts off with a bang with '3' her surprise Billboard chart #1-hit debut.
(Just how did she managed that coup?!)

Then followed by a slew of her past singles arranged in chronological order.

Clearly , Jive records wants to milk her worth and rival her with Madonna's Celebration album .

God bless Britney. She's selling out faster than hot toast.

She's not a girl. But an old woman now.
Metaphorically speaking.

Battle of the Divas

It's been 4eva since I posted anything here.

So lets restart with a Bang.^^)

This month is the Battle of the Divas,I tell ya.

Vanessa Williams, the beauty who was the first Black to Win Miss America, finally has new material after all these years of silence and Ugly Betty.

Her 'The Real Thing' got critical acclaim and is doing well.

Louder and bigger (of course) is Whitney Houston .

Whitney launched her much anticipated comeack album , 'I Look To You' to much fan fare 2 weeks ago.

Well, it making a #1 debut on the Album charts on the Billboard Hot 100 and world wide as a matter of fact , proves, she's back !

And the world's accepting.

With big songs like the title track , the very intimate 'I Look to you' , the catchy 'Million Dollar Bill', the touching 'I Didn't Know my Own Stength' amongst others, (with my personal favourite 'Worth It' ) , it's easy to see how Whitney has traded lung power (still loads of it btw) for somthing more urban and connecting.

Brilliant. Surely one of the best albums and Grammy shoo-ins this year.
Madonna, on the other hand , just launched her third Greatest Hits collection, after her title track, the very nice (and me thinks is indeed one of her best songs thus far, up there with 'Hung Up' and 'Music') , 'Celebration'.

A very well-packaged album with posters and double Cds of her biggest hits from her long career (very heavy, yes) .

A much-needed reprieve from the ho hum Hard Candy.

Just like what 'GHV2' had to do with the damage caused by 'American Life', a couple of years back.

Well, this time, I can safely report that 'Celebration' is a much better album than even 'GHV2'. So, indeed, take heart. Maddie learnt her lessons (just).

Well , Beyonce on the other hand, just had her much banging performance at Singapore's F1 Night Race which the whole world was bound to have been watching.

And it also coincides with her launch of The Platinum edition for the recent Sasha album.

What next? Diamond Ed? This girl is manic, I tell ya.

I would have to say , well, Nippy and Maddie's albums are just a stamp to show who's the real deal amoungst a sea of Beyonces, Britneys, Rihannas and GaGas we have today

Well done!

Whitney , especially, she's in control and knows that a good effort is a Precise and concise effort.

The Wait is over.

I will Always Screw U?

Yes, Whitney will screw you, rumour mongers. Not Bobby Brown, no more.

Rumour has it that Whitney Houston's back with Bobby Brown.

And her publicist Nancy Seltzer, as always, is quick to come to her rescue. (Thank god! And she deserves a pay rise.)

Crack is wack. Bobby's wack.

C'mon peeps! Whitney took an agonizing 14 years to rid of him from her life.

Too long did he mess with her fame.

Whitney's dating again and her new album is out early next year.
So, screw you, she must be screaming.

And yes, when Whitney screams, every one listens.

Q .... 180 million albums later, sure we do.

Hit the Jackpot!

Jackpot! The Best Bette (know as The Best Bette in Europe) is a compilation album of recordings by American singer Bette Midler.

The album release was originally set to coincide with Midler's current Las Vegas show, Bette Midler: The Showgirl Must Go On which debuted on February 20, 2008 at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace
, but was postponed to an international September release.

After some thirty-five years in showbusiness and having recorded some twenty albums this is the second single-disc compilation of Midler's best-known recordings, following 1993/1996's Experience the Divine.

Jackpot! The Best Bette includes three titles from Midler's more recent albums for Columbia, "This Ole House", "Tenderly" and "Cool Yule", and also sees the debut of one previously unreleased track, "Something Your Heart's Been Telling Me", co-written by Midler, Robert Kraft and Barry Reynolds and originally cut as a demo by the singer herself in 1984 but first released by Roberta Flack who recorded the song for her 1991 album Set the Night to Music.~ Wiki-ed.

A drama queen like non other.

A must get.

Ultimate Diva

These are indeed times where the Big Stars have awoken from slumber and will not tolerate Lesser Beings from stealing the lime light no more. :)

Witness, Britney Spears ('Black Out'), The Spice Girls (Spice:Greatest Hits, Annie Lennox ('Songs of Distruction'), and Celine Dion ('Taking Chances').

Indeed, these ARE times for Comebacks.

From Mother-issues, Vegas-Issues, Chemo-issues to Rehab-issues. They are all excuses for a Perfect Break.

At the top, conditions are cold and harsh and one gets sick easily.

But, soon, being at lower altitudes gets too warm under the collar and they climb right back to the Top once more, to Stay Cool. :p

Whitney Houston's actual come back is only early-2008. But it seems,
she'd want a good Christmas this year after her break from Bobby Brown.

To garner hype and to remind the world once more how this Superstar has earned the distiction for being the Most Awarded Female Artist of All Time according to the Guiness Book of World Records (over 440 awards to date, can you believe it?!) , has 11 Billboard #1-hits (seven of which are consecutive) and over 170 million albums sold , this album is out ...for the fans and naysayers alike.

So herald 'Whitney Houston: The Ultimate Collection'.

Eat your hearts out ... cuz.. 'The Voice'... is back.

It DEBUTed at #5 in the UK ... already. Nuff Said :o)

PS: Head to YouTube and check out Whitney's stirling appearance at this years Swarovski's Charity Ball 2007. Ravishing. :-)

Spicey Comeback (n Goodbye?)

This is strangely the time for come-backs for mega-stars in the music businees who all decided to take a career hiatus in the early 2000s... mostly to have babies.:)

Serious. Think Ultra Nate, Celine Dion, Nelly Furtado ,Britney Spears, most of the Spice Girls, et al

And then the next wave of pop-mamas will be the likes of Chirstina Aguilera and Jennifer Lopez.

Who's next? Mariah? Nay.... not likely. LOL

Anyway, if you're still part of the (very) small group of uninitiated folks out there, The Spice Girls, are back, and with lots of pent-up vengence. :op

Lot's to celebrate about:

1) Posh Victoria Adams-Beckham continues her onslaught of the North Amercian Market, starting with a very anticipated (and expected) guest-starring role as ... who else but her stylish-self, on hit drama 'Ugly Betty'.

2) Scary Mel B is proud mama to Hollywood actor Eddie Murphy's baby boy and is currently a big draw on 'Dancing with the Stars' hit-reality show.

3) Baby Emma Bunton just had her own baby-baby and a new album coming up.

4) Ginger Geri Halliwell, is enjoying motherhood, has lots more hosting gigs in the US, and is planning her own come-back album release and to continue her reign as The 'UK Female Artist with the most #1-hits to her name' (sorry it's just not Madonna, Kylie or Whitney, thank you.)

5) Sporty Mel C is basking in her new sexy image and running her own production company now; expect new music from her too.

6) Best of all, the girls are now embarking on their World Tour, starting with an extravaganza-performance at this year's Victoria's Secret Fashion show 2008. OMG!!!!

Anyway, over this weekend and the rest of next week, the long-awaited and much anticipated
Spice Girls' Greatest Hits album
is finally out in stores.
:-)

The CD cover is atypical Spice Girl album-fare: White background with the simple and colorful word 'Spice' upfront.

Only this time, more BLING BLING.
These girls are all grown up now and they prefer Gems to Gummy-bears, getit? :-)

Anyway, be sure to check out the new lead-off single (and video illegally or otherwise)
'Headlines (Friendship Never Ends).

The Big Question remains: Is this a one-off 'Comeback'? And then yet another 'Goodbye'?

Or will we see more of these Spicey Mamas preaching about how 'friendship never ends'?...
