The Lady and Her Music. She Will be Missed.

Lena Horne (June 30, 1917 – May 9, 2010)

She was too white for the black community and too black for early Hollywood.

Despite her being 'at least 50 years too early', her elegance , vocal talents and mesmerising presense made her a star and a legend and has helped inspired generations of African American actresses and Singers.
No one lyric-phrases like she does.

A legend passing.

I will Always Screw U?

Yes, Whitney will screw you, rumour mongers. Not Bobby Brown, no more.

Rumour has it that Whitney Houston's back with Bobby Brown.

And her publicist Nancy Seltzer, as always, is quick to come to her rescue. (Thank god! And she deserves a pay rise.)

Crack is wack. Bobby's wack.

C'mon peeps! Whitney took an agonizing 14 years to rid of him from her life.

Too long did he mess with her fame.

Whitney's dating again and her new album is out early next year.
So, screw you, she must be screaming.

And yes, when Whitney screams, every one listens.

Q .... 180 million albums later, sure we do.

His Fashionista

Jimmy James.

Like a circus. Only with style.

" Jean Paul, Calvin Klein, Donna Karan's fashion line.... Mr. Ford I can't afford... Naomi Campbell's such a b*tch!"

LMAO. Nice.

Camp Circus indeed. ^^

Rock my Boat ;)

In a perfect world, time stands still.

Beauty is stuck in an era that is bounded by itself.

As enduring as Norah Jones and Amy Winehouse, comes an edgy songstress that is as packaged as any pop star surely but comes without the pretense such that she has little going for her.

No drama. Just a genuinely refined attempt at sealing her place in the limelight for years to come.

For Rockferry is indeed one of those rare debut albums that declares unashamedly that it's maker is a legend-in-the-making.

Duffy, this scruffy Bardot-like siren
is at once raspy, squeaky, head-tone mania and falsetta-heaven.

Yes, as you suspect. Quite possibly, a diva in the making.

With gorgeous tracks like 'Warwick Avenue' and of course the irrepressible 'Mercy' , this next pop darling is an unquestionable talent that has helped spur her to #1 everywhere and millions of records sold.

Great success for a marketing gimmick that could so have gone wrong .

A fashionista or a dowdy wannabe? Well, actually it seems Miss Winehouse has a true rival in Miss D .

Ultra is an AUTOMATIC Hit

The Ultra Dance Diva is back.

After a 5-year hiatus, she's still the reason why Maddie or Cher will never gain her level of credibility in the genre.

She who can be as camp as Geri or Kylie and not be associated with 'fever' or 'disco'.

Don't get confused however, for Ultra does House music; not your regular pop/dance affair.

Since both album and lead-off single are hotter-than-hot, I'll rave about each.:-)

The lead-off single and video 'Automatic' is a remake of the Pointer Sister's early Eighties hit.

But Ultra injects her royal sexy huskiness into it like none other. Think a deeper Macy Gray meets Erykah Badu sensibiities and Tina Turner rock-chic.

The electro-synth and aura which only Ultra can deliver is evident. But this time, with new influences and confidence, she injects a come-hitherness to great affect, making this song a smouldering trail blazer for acts to come.

If there is one aritst who's capable of making an old hit become a new and bigger hit, other than Whitney Houston, Ultra's it.

For the video, not seeing it is as sinful as the video itself.

It indeed brings the exact meaning to the song 'Video killed the Radio star'.

Not unlike George Michael's 'Freeek', where he coos about Cyber Sex, one moment, she's a leather Dominatrix and next she's a disturbing Blow Doll.

Then of course, she had male models with perfect pecs going orgasmic in front of their lap tops (but isnt' leaving your lapie down there bad for your ,erm, jewels, no?)YouTube ratings are through the roof for good reason.

For the GST album (laugh but whatta clumsy name just like Gwen Stefani's 'Love Angel Music Baby' album), the first single 'Automatic' went straight to #1 on both the Digital Downloads chart as well as the Billboard Dance Chart. And the second single, 'Love's the Only Drug' is in the Top 3 already too.

So, nuff said, this album is spanking good. ^^

More progressive yes, but all hail a welcome return for a dance legend who has been sorely missing over the past few years.
