An image sealed in the annals of history.

The new president wore a red tie and white shirt with his new tuxedo made by Hart Schaffner Marx, a unionized factory in Chicago. This was topped with an overcoat adorned with an American flag pin.

Michelle Obama wore a sparkling yellow-gold sheath dress with matching coat by Cuban-born American designer Isabel Toledo. She paired the ensemble with green gloves from J. Crew and green shoes.

The world witnessed in high emotion , the first ever colored American President take his oath with the bible.

Most significant parts of his historical inauguration speech:

" .... know that America is a friend of each nation and every man, woman and child who seeks a future of peace and dignity, and that we are ready to lead once more."

" To the Muslim world, we seek a new way forward, based on mutual interest and respect. To those leaders around the globe who seem to sow conflict, or blame their society's ills on the West- know that your people will judge you on what you can build , not what you destroy."

Beyond well said. Beyond well thought and rehearsed.

Billions worship the ground he walks on.

They look up to him for hope of a better future. One rid of economic uncertainties, free of terrorism and war.

A new world. A better world.

Maybe.

Obama represents hope and change.

Hope he certainly gives. Change, we all hope.

Now that he is the 44th Elected president of the USA, we will all wait in batted breath.

" Remake America, " he says.

"Please remake the World," we say.

Sam & i

I'm using the Samsung F480.

It's classy looking, super slim and sleek (barely 1cm thick and covered in leather, dark chrome and brushed aluminium; sure it is!) and its interface is amazing.

And oh, did I mention it has so many functions and a 5 mega pixel camera/vid cam to boot?

Amazing huh? All that and more in an impossibly sleek package.

I'm the type who's into really slim phones coz I cannot stand the massive bulge in my pants ( I meant the pockets ok? ) .

And trust me, it takes quite a phone to persuade me off my waif Motorola Razr.

My bro uses the new-fangled Apple iPhone.

First off, yes, it has its pluses. Its myriad of functions is mind boggling.

Its connectivity is unmatched.

But it also has its draw backs not typical of a seasoned mobile phone maker like Samsung, Sony Ericcson, Motorola or Nokia.

To be fair, no phone is perfect.

But there are features on the iPhone ( I am nit-picking here btw) which is glaringly omitted and it takes quite a commited fan to claim that those don't matter.

For me, the biggest issues are:
1) I never like anything that is getting too popular (a.k.a 'common') and where every other poseur possibly has one already.

2)As mentioned, I don't like my phones bulky. This the iPhone definitely is.

You see, other than the unsightly bulge it creates, I've had experienced before that a bulky phone simply gets lost too easily because you'd need to take it in and out often just to get it out of the way when you sit or when you need a little more freedom of movement.

So it begs the million-dollar question, do you really need that many fancy toys in a phone where you would sacrifice real world practicalities like size and you-thought-were-common-functions?

But , really, I'm not to judge.

Because usage patterns are different and unique to every one.

And it's only a question of getting used to. Moot point.

Well, it's all in the eyes of the beholder. (^^
