Glow in the Dark

And he finally came.

Months of hype and wait. And over an hour late.

With people in the audience hollering " Don't be a Diva, Kanye West!"

Mr West finally exploded on stage amid a flurry of pent up anticipation from an eager crowd at the Singapore Indoor Stadium, 29th October 2008.

The 'glow in the dark ' concept was way less spectacular than the dazzling effects it had when it first started back in the states.

What we saw were lots of jewel-toned beam lights flashing , pulsating and swirling wildly. Not bad where the pyrotechnics are concerned . But still, it doesn't belly its name sake like its US-debut.

Kanye never bothered once to interact with the audience. He never bothered to explain why hundreds had to wait so long for anything to begin.

He's a talent alright. Owns the stage. Having a good mix of charisma and energy.
His voice was flawless and real. He amazes us with his ability to remember every line of the (possibly) thousands of lyrics he motor-mouthed .

But , if not for an obviously eager and entusiastic crowd, there were many times it looked like he was simply obligated to be there and put up a good show, not because he was trully ever eager to play in these parts.

He just droned on and on , amazing with his vocal prowess and passion for his music but drowzing with his lack of genuine connection with the audience.

Still, an unforgetable night on all counts.

Beautiful people. Great sound system. Great energy .

A flawless if souless performance.
