Sex Sells: Do Carrie On!

Sex and The City 2

Fun. Fashion. Friendship. Fornification. Fabulous.

You can't argue with that.

Having watched it (very big crowds!), I must say, if a trilogy is not all ready in the pipe works, I don't know what the executives are thinking.

They must be straight or boring.

Q.. Carrie on please !

2 Good 2 be True.

SITC 2 : Sarah Jessica Parker is at it again. Lovely.

Fashionistas delight.

A show on sisterhood (whatever it means in your context. Ahem.)and a fashion slut-fest.

Baby-boomers and cougars will surely flock to the big screens to catch up with their dosage of what fed them their fashion-fueled youths.

But , no, snap out of it , you can't live their lives.

We 've all got real lives to lead, lack of sleep, problems, bad hair, eye bags and all and bills to pay.

We won't be jet-setting to Dubai anytime soon and we won't be affording designer togs with our pay cheques.

Q .... dream on. So, yeah, go watch it.

Wannabe Whitney

She looks like her. God-damn looks like her!

And is even dating her own Mr. Brown and suffering , apparently, the same trashing-behind-closed-doors.

Now,
she wants to do what made Whitney the timeless superstar that she came to be.

Yes, Rihanna is to star in a remake of 'The Bodyguard'.

Or so says reports.

The 21-year-old pop star - whose boyfriend Chris Brown has been charged with felony assault and making criminal threats following his alleged assault on her - has reportedly been looking at various scripts in New York, including a remake of the hit 90s film which starred Whitney Houston and Kevin Costner.

A source told the New York Daily News newspaper: 'Before the situation with Chris, Rihanna was getting a lot of scripts. She has been wanting to do movies for a while now.'

If the film goes ahead, Rihanna's character will be a 'young and sexy take' on the popstar previously played by Whitney.

The Barbados-born beauty will star alongside 'GI Joe' actor Channing Tatum who will play her on-screen love interest.
~MSN News

Rihanna, seriously, as much as I am a huge fan of your dance-hall R&B-pop brandished with your signature reggae-fied vocoder vocals, you real-life Ananova you, whether you looking like Whitney's long lost younger sister or not, does not give your any veto-right to go all out to seal that deal.

C'mon, a Bodyguard sequel minus the signature voice-on-fire of Miss Houston, just don't cut it.

Image can only go that far , Miss Barbados.

Q ...Really.

More Sex same City

Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis have agreed to star in the
'Sex and the City: The Movie' sequel.

Following months of speculation the quartet were set to reprise the roles they brought to the big screen last year - four years after the hit US TV series ended - a source has now claimed the lead actresses will appear in another movie.

The film insider said: 'Not all the contracts are signed, but everyone is on board. It just happened.'

All the actresses will get increased salaries for appearing in the second
movie.

The lure of fame and money.

Indeed , when sex sells, the coffers get fat.

After all, even Sarah Jessica herself hasn't had much of a career left since the SITC ended its run.

So why not? Milk it for all it's worth.

The fact that the first movie had 2 consecutive mega sound track releases only showed her desperation to get back on top.

Q ... Indeed. When the she "got carried away, she'll be back for more."

When 2-Bs come 1

These two leads are so hot together; Brody and Beyonce

Adrien Brody insisted on kissing Beyonce Knowles several times in their new movie.

The Oscar-winning actor enjoyed locking lips with the beauty so much he wanted to re-shoot the steamy scene over and over again for 'Cadillac Records'.

He said: 'It is fun, obviously, to kiss Beyonce. I insisted on a lot of takes.'

In the movie, Beyonce stars as legendary troubled singer Etta James, while Adrien plays record boss Leonard Chess.

Although the pair never canoodled in real life, Adrien claims writing the romance into the movie was essential.

Hell yeah. ^^

Q...Hats off.

It is Bright in the City of Ember

City of Ember

2008 was a highly eventful year for Movie goers.

Quite like non-other years, was there so many major, critically acclaimed block busters flooding our big screens, making week-enders spoilt for choice.

Cloverfield, Wall-E, Iron Man, Batman, James Bond, Starwars, The Mummy, Bunnyhouse, Journey to the Centre of the Earth, Narnia, Star Dust, Saw.... the list is way too long to recall here. So any names not found here is but merely slip of mind.

Still, as the year nears its end and the movie studios make their final rush to vie for the box office crowds' holiday budget, comes yet another amazing movie, that is if the universe was just (which it isn't btw) , this movie would be bang-a-buck, top-of-the-list major block buster.

Here is a movie so original in its concept, script and conceivement. Which once again re-ignites our beliefs that blockbusters are not just a tried and tested formula.

Every step of the way, it is believable yet incredible. A roller coaster ride of thrills, spills and raw emotion .

I won't spill the beans because I 'm doing my best in keeping the movie a shoo-in-for the top honours at the Box office. :)

A movie that dwells deep into the social ills of an oppressed yet complacent society put into context, an extraordinary circumstance.

Relatable yet mind-blowing.
So , all I can say is, GO WATCH IT .

It's Amazing.

Q... WOW .

I SAW

I SAW it today and once again, it reminded me why this movie franchise remains one of my all time favorites.

The gore and the lack of predictability (other than death itself; Ha!).

The ruthlessness of the plot. No one is spared.

Unlike other movies, No lead actor is ever caught in the 'right place at the right time' !!!
Hell yeah. ^^ More like 'wrong place wrong time' baby ...!!!

LMAO.

Q .. Lovin it .

Well, judging from the poster below, it's not all bad...

Model Reserrection

Hey Nora...

Was wathicng a late re-run of the horror flick Halloween Reserrection .

And we all know the only reason it's worth watching is a guest appearance of Supermodel Tyra Banks.

Frankly, watching this show is like watching Tyra hosting an episode of ANTM Halloween special.

One after the other , they get eliminated. Pretty much like failing to do well in a (twisted) commercial.

And the last one standing (the girl not going home tonight and not having to
immediately 'pack her belongings and leave the house' ) gets to squirm in Tyra's pool of blood ... 'And the winner is ....'

.... T.Y.R.A .

LMAO.

No Sex

Sarah Jessica Parker says there won't be another 'Sex and the City' movie.

The actress - who reprised her role as sex columnist Carrie Bradshaw in the long awaited 'Sex and the City: The Movie' earlier this year - doesn't think there will be a sequel.

Did it flop? Or she's just moving on?

Oh my .. this is greater than a Big O .

Barbie Dolly

Dolly Parton, as we know her to be, all surgically enhanced and preserved, has went a step further (than Cher, even) to ensure that she'll remain the goddess that she is by being a living Barbie.

No further from the truth, her latest album 'Backwoods Barbie' launched earlier this year sees the voluptuous One who's sold more country albums and has had more country hits than any other, literally embracing her iconic image and finally accepting with glee , her position as the music industry's Oldest Living Doll.

No bad thing really.

We all know the big talent that she is( boobs aside, mind you). She's one hell of a fantastic singer whose head tones and range match the Whitneys and Mariahs out there.

Then its no secret that she's quite a prolific song writer and producer.

Indeed, if there was ever a living person worthy of actually being a Living Barbie (no, I'm not talking about the narcissistic slew of celebrities that seeked Mattel out to have a version of themselves made in the likeness), it would be Dolly , herself.

Not surprisingly, the album's been blazing the charts for her.

Q

>>Ok, and maybe also Tyra Banks , herself , in the movie 'Life Size'.

Apt, indeed.:)

Sex And the City

Don't be fooled by the pink or the bling

A movie trying to be EVERYTHING IT IS NOT:

>Famous (er, heard of Franchising?)
>Sassy (seen it all haven't we?)
> Fashionably fabulous (this a plenty; if you happen to throng NY Fashion Week; which we don't.)
>Sexy (Hell no!)
>Miss Independent-can-do-nothing wrong (so how's there the Possiblity of a credible plot?)

My Point Exactly.

Then again, we all know how savvy a business woman Miss Sarah Jessica Parker is, donch we?

She can sell you Anything.^^

Beowolf : A Bear in Wolf's clothing

Just got this DVD and it's been Ponning on the Replay ever since. :)

If we secretly lament the plunging standards of our actors these days, this movie only serves to drive home the message that one need only look good to be a Hollywood star these days.

Or worse, you may not even need to look good at all.

No Audrey Hepburn or Fred Estare.

They were the type that could really act. Really project. Really sing. Really dance. Really dazzle. And looking really good when plastic surgery and computer air-brushing weren't yet invented.

Actors these days could be sheened over with animation.

Proof being,
Beowulf.

Pronounced as 'Bae-0-wolf'. Which means 'bear' not 'wolf', btw. And so the mystery deepens.

With the impossible moves, wrenching expressions and the oh-so-perfect bodies; these days anything so fake can look so real!

But save for the excellent mix of lust, love, passion, almight, adventure, greed, deceit, pride and er, more lust, this movie actually works. Brilliantly too.

'Born a hero, die a hero' may sound terribly cliche but the plot is deep and dark and even with the dragon, towards the end of the movie, being more fake than an orange peel tan, it constantly dwells into the psyche of the adult mind, letting us question the morality that shaped the foundations of Man and his humanity.

So, should you watch this?

Believe it or not, this could really be the porn industry's next big inspiration (both plot and filming technique).

So,indeed. Get the DVD and PoRn de Replay. :p

Pop the corn and Seam

The fructose (a.k.a the unhealthiest type of sugar there is out there)levels are off the charts.

The butter-level is not far behind .

And remember , this IS CORN .

So what this means is that the caloric intake for a single movie -sitting is diabetes-inducing , heart vessel-clogging and waist-seam bursting!!!

"Pop the seam! Pop the seam!"

Everything single damn time I indulge, I feel disgusted.

Arrrghh!!!!!

10,000 B.C

10, 000 years worth of Crappola. Fabulous.
Like all epics , the baseline is that there comes a hero, who's got more balls (and brawns would help a lot too) than Brains, will raise hell to save that Pretty Little thing (Leadership camps?).

With that settled, let us first state the obvious, like all epics, the visual effects are stunning. The sheer size of the production is mind boggling.

Then you leave the theatre feeling like a complete idiot because you got a sense of DeJa Vu. Like you went to Apocalypto and back.

Some crazed dictator decides that monuments ought to be built in his name (a.k.a 'I AM God' getit?) then decides that the only way to construct Pyramids bigger than their egos is to herd the rest of the world (in this case, the poor Mammoths as well), to slave for him (no, not the I'm-A-Slave-For-You Britney sorta way).
Only this time, where Apocalypto was as loosely real as it could get (it's really still fictional), 10,000 B.C screws you inside out .

Like the last couple of years of Proper Education you've ever had had suddenly gone to waste over a single session of Popcorn.

The prehistoric time line is messed up. The geographical imposibilities is appalling. the historical backdrop is blaspheme.

If there was even the remote possibility of waltzing from the central regions of Seberia to the middle of South America and then go sun tanning in Africa in the next, your Geography lessons have gone to waste. And are you sure you know where you live?

If the Hebrews were indeed the Mammoths who slaved for the Pyramids of Egypt.... ok, let's not even go there.

Now,let's put the possibilities of having to burn our school graduation certificates aside, and talk about other anomalies.

>Did the Almight Ruler ripped his fashion sense from Diva Plava Laguna of The Fifth Element?

>And where the hell did the Saber Tooth cat go to when all the action was happening? Pussy!^^P

All said and done though, this show is for pure entertainment. Period.

It's the weekends, remember?

Q

PS: A perfectly harmless show that, ironically, you should never show your kids. It'll mess them up. A:-D

01-18-08

Ok, I can't hold the suspense no more. ^^ So the mystery's out:

What is it???
What's wrecking Manhattan, yet again?

Beware King to-The-Kong ! Beware God-to-The-Zilla! Beware T-to-The-Rex!

This is 'Government Restricted Material'. This DOESN'T EXIST.
(Shhhhh. ^^)

Cloverfield clovers at the Box Office

The Statue Of Liberty is prolly the most overused and over-bashed up World Heritage site. EVER.

The poor grand dame is marked in National Treasure 2, is underwater in A.I. , under snow in The Day After Tomorrow, is scratched up in X-Men, is bashed up in Godzilla. Is Bashed up again in Cloverfield. She's Beheaded in fact!

Do we really have issues with Her?

...

Anyway, back to the movie in review.

-One word: Great.

-TWO more words: Watch it .

Why you'll love it:
It's one hella roller coaster ride!
If you think you can dig a movie crossed between The Blair Witch Project and Godzilla, you'll love this to bits.
It will surely leave you with an unforgettable weedend at the movies.

Why you'll hate it:
It's one hella roller coaster ride!
Go easy on that pre-movie dinner is all I can hint to you . (I'm not gonna spoil the fun.)

Verdict: It's only the start of the year and already it's likely one of it's best.

"A thrill-seeker's ultimate nightmare. A dream."

"The emotional depth is Unnerving."

"You'll really want to get off your seat and leave. But You'll want to endure!"

How many stars? A Plenty. Haha. :)

PS:There's pic which I'm so SO so SO tempted to put here... but no. It'll spoil the fun.

So a Teaser 4 u instead. :p

It's so good, I'm puking....

The Assassination of Richard Nixon

While rushing to complete yet another assignment, I got to watch the movie
'The Assassination of Richard Nixon' on late night television .

Yeah... again.. no life. LOX

The story line is not literally about some president-assassination attempt.

The lead character is a tormented soul played by critically acclaimed actor, Sean Penn.

It's about a man who's dying to make it big in the business world and make lots of bucks. And throughout the entire show, he's constantly brainwashed by clips of Richard Nixon on the news 'selling' his agenda to the American public just to keep his place as President on two consecutive terms in the Office.

It tells of how much it takes to be in the game of deception to stay ahead and remain a winner.

From then on, being an office-furniture sales man, he was constantly the 'best' performer in terms of sales but his idealistic tendencies got the better of him. He simply wasn't comfortable in being 'ruthless' and 'to lie'.

His problems at work soon foils his family life and marriage.

He was eager to make it on his own, so that he could run a 'good and honest ' business; just the way he would like it to be.

However, after submitting his business plan to the authorities and banks for approval, he waited and waited... and waited.

In the process, his world got darker and more tormented. He felt the system was against him. He had his goals and dreams but everything was there, it seemed, to prevent him from achieving his goals.

When 10 weeks finally came about, it was only bad news that was there to receive him.

He went suicidal and homicidal.

Finally, he character failed in his suicide-hijack attempt on a passneger plane and was killed.

I feel so much for his character.

We go about life with hopes and dreams, wanting to achieve so badly. We plan and stategise and do whatever we can to realise that dream.

But you come to realise, it's not you that is not working hard enough or not putting in all that is necessary.

It's a case of somebody else, or there could exist a system or an unspoken rule somewhere that prevents you from achieving those big dreams.

You pound with frustration and hopelessness... and you wait and wait and wait for a response . To no avail.

Literally, a sense that your destiny lies in the hands of others and you could do nothing about it .

Very relatable indeed. ::::
