More like Childish.

My couzie, no, cousin (the former is used only for those I'm close to, ahem!) once comment that he hates being young (kiddin?!)as no one takes him seriously at the office.

Although I know where he's coming from ( some where from Mars) , I think one has to look at one self's mannerisms.

If you portray yourself as being more 'young' than youthful,
even a cow would poop on you.

It's real ability, character and personality , in all the right mix that pulls it off, you goof.

Wisdom comes with Age. True. But Stupidity is constant.

10,000 B.C

10, 000 years worth of Crappola. Fabulous.
Like all epics , the baseline is that there comes a hero, who's got more balls (and brawns would help a lot too) than Brains, will raise hell to save that Pretty Little thing (Leadership camps?).

With that settled, let us first state the obvious, like all epics, the visual effects are stunning. The sheer size of the production is mind boggling.

Then you leave the theatre feeling like a complete idiot because you got a sense of DeJa Vu. Like you went to Apocalypto and back.

Some crazed dictator decides that monuments ought to be built in his name (a.k.a 'I AM God' getit?) then decides that the only way to construct Pyramids bigger than their egos is to herd the rest of the world (in this case, the poor Mammoths as well), to slave for him (no, not the I'm-A-Slave-For-You Britney sorta way).
Only this time, where Apocalypto was as loosely real as it could get (it's really still fictional), 10,000 B.C screws you inside out .

Like the last couple of years of Proper Education you've ever had had suddenly gone to waste over a single session of Popcorn.

The prehistoric time line is messed up. The geographical imposibilities is appalling. the historical backdrop is blaspheme.

If there was even the remote possibility of waltzing from the central regions of Seberia to the middle of South America and then go sun tanning in Africa in the next, your Geography lessons have gone to waste. And are you sure you know where you live?

If the Hebrews were indeed the Mammoths who slaved for the Pyramids of Egypt.... ok, let's not even go there.

Now,let's put the possibilities of having to burn our school graduation certificates aside, and talk about other anomalies.

>Did the Almight Ruler ripped his fashion sense from Diva Plava Laguna of The Fifth Element?

>And where the hell did the Saber Tooth cat go to when all the action was happening? Pussy!^^P

All said and done though, this show is for pure entertainment. Period.

It's the weekends, remember?

PS: A perfectly harmless show that, ironically, you should never show your kids. It'll mess them up. A:-D

What's Happnin? :(

Y-Min's been acting strange recently.

Hmmm.

WASSUP???

-She suddenly left this strange comment on Friendster like she 'didn't know me'.

-Deleted a photo comment on a picture she and I goofed so much about when we took it at last year's ZO.

- SMSed her a simple good-natured friendly greet and she messaged back asking 'Who are you?' then later replied "Oh. I thought you were her friend. She's not using this number anymore. But I'll let her know . Rgds, Kelvin."

What de??!

Am I not her friend? How have I offended her? Why do I feel 'deleted'?

No rhyme or reason.

Just days ago we're still chattin.

Sigh.

HORmones? No, its juz HORrible.

They Blame it on HORMONES.

I say it's just a lack of social responsibily and tact.

If you're the type that think folks around you are unimportant and its eh ok to take them for granted, (you) better start questioning your existance as a person.

It's not Hormones. It's you.

Hypothetically speaking, if, just bcos I had a testosterone surge, still doesn't make it forgiveable to go beat people up.

NO???

No Phuture ahead

There is light only at the End of the Tunnel. Not along it...
Straight ahead is Zouk. To the right is the Toilet. To the left is Phuture.

"To the LEFT . To the LEFT.... "

When you pay a lot to enter Velvet Underground and Zouk, there is just NO REASON WHY WE WERE NOT ALLOWED INTO PHUTURE.

What a bad experience.

No more.

The END is Near. No more Phuture. Nothing.

Peace of Resistence

'Comments'... no matter good or bad , appropriate or blaspheme, at the very least, allows one to Reflect and think of possible lessons learnt.

So there's no need for defensiveness and being secretly jaded.

Humility is the sure sign of level-headed maturity.

These are opportunities to grow as a person. To make each day a better you.

Either you self-destruct, some day some how, or allow growth to happen.

So why don't you let it happen???

Free your mind. And the rest will follow.
Don't put on a front. You will be shallow.

Life is too short to be stuck in your own world.

Inputs give you perspective; the options to move in directions which you'd never knew
was there. Yeah?

Children = Cows

"Books are like Pastures that you have to encourage children to graze upon."

~ You Jin, a famed short-story and essay writer and a Chinese Tutor at PioneerJC .

Spoken words by a true educator. Wise and inspiring. :)

But wait, is she insinuating that children are like, cows?!

Blardy bovines??? And yes, books are indeed good sources of fibre.

Joking. :op

Sorry, Madam Moo !!!!

Monsters being themselves

... Suffice to say, such EYE-SORES. Dig your eyes you..

Today was All-Hallows' Eve. (Halloween for blur-fucts. LOL)

And the clubs.... ever more than it already was... filled with POSERS who had the opportunity POSE even more. *

*3 Phenomenon observed:

1) Everyone wants to be a Victoria's Secret Angel. But only 1 or 2 looked like it.:) The rest looked more like Victoria's Secret Love-child-that-should-have-remained-a-Secret. 'Angels' goons, Getit? Not moths... You want onlookers to swoon not swat.

2) Scary Movie killer. You know... if you've got like ten others standing in front of you... they are called Scary Idiots. Good luck with those friends who insist on bringing the fella back home thinking that the stubbornness is a result of being drunk rather than mistaken identity.... (Are you high?)

3)When you're a regular club-goer, you tend to recognise faces. And you swear that with painted faces, white-washed or blood, wigs/ hats and all.... they actually looked better .... heehee

Indeed, MONSTERS pretending to be MONSTERS.

LMAO.

But I did spot a gem (sad isn't it ? The Cannery is hugh and yet there were more messed-up folks than dressed-up folks) : There was this siren in a lil black dress with glowing-red devil ears and 6-inch red stilettos. Nothing over the stop. Subtle and understated. And yet the theme was obviously 'Devil Wears Prada' ... got it ... and oh-so-stylish and sexy. Too bad her bf looked like a prop.

Well, at least when the smoke screen dissipates and the lights go back on... you'd have expected to see a messed-up toad rather than some should-have-been-a-hottie ... only to die of FRIGHT later on.... or worse find one beside your bed that next morning.

Monsters.

Basically, a night where many were ...themselves. ;p

Find the Paradise within

I know of a few individuals (friends, foe or otherwise LOL) ..... Who are always ANGRY.

It's like, they cannot find peace within themselves. They can't find tranquility in their lives.

They are constantly at odds with the quirks of life and people around them.

God bless them b'cos these souls are so unhappy all the time (!).

I do not think any individual in this world is 'blessed' in being surrounded by 'nice people' or 'good situations' . But what makes these 'lucky' individuals have the ability to live in harmony with their surroundings is that they have the discipline to :

  • be positive,

  • be perky,

  • be at ease with the unknown and uncomfortable

  • have the maturity not to be riled

  • upkeep a strong self-esteem

  • let-live and to 'shove it off'

  • not dwell in self pity and indulgent -anger

  • WANT to be happy

Otherwise, if you're constantly having too many issues with too many things , circumstances and people around you, perhaps its you who is at odds with the World at large and not the other way around.
Pick up the pieces. Resolve it.

This world is not perfect; no perfect beings and situations.

The butterflies, flowers and rainbow-by-the-waterfall, is really a buffer environment within yourself which you must create in order to live in ...
HAPPINESS. ^^

Dancing Divas , Dogs & Donkeys

I was out hitting the clubs with pals tonight. :p

Was club-hopping, more like it. (a late dinner at Hooters doesn't count :-p) .

7 Clubz in a row, man! LOL

1) Kandi Bar (~1 hours)

2) Fashion Bar (~45 mins)

3) Ministry of Sound (~ 1.5 hours)

4) Pure (~10 mins)

5) Studio 54 (~35 mins)

6) Smoove (~20 mins)

7) Forbidden City (~2+ hours)

As you can see, the amount of time spent in each highly differed.

And it changes all the time. I do spend a hell lot of time in F-Bar on other sinful nights of tryst. LOL

The music, the ambient, the service, the mood, the crowd.

A lot goes into the mix of what's nice, what's tolerable and what's bleah.

Especially easy to sieve it all out if you had a reaaaallllllllyyyyy long day prior. Haha. Yawn.

(B*t*hy and moody getit?ha ha)

Well, the DJ has his own mood swings too so the music is not worth commenting if it just happens to sux on a particular night . So no comments on this.

The ambient, well, no club in The Cannery is particularly bad, so deal with it.

The mood has got a lot to do with whom you're clubbing with , the ambient and music.... an overall impression. U C? Can't say it was bad, so we'll move on.

Lastly , let's talk about the Crowd.

(The gist of this post really. LOL)

Let's consider the deception :

1) The clothes are flattering and fancy. ( read: Slimming)

2) The hair styles are perfect to every strand. (read: facial flaws hiding behind a perfect coif)

3) The moves are rehearsed and deliberate (read: seen from best angles only)

4) The lights are dimmed (read: 'looking' good because of poor vision)

5) The air is filled with smoke from cigarettes and dry ice. (read: Instant air-brush!!)

So every body looks like a million dollars. Every body looks ready to be hit-on and picked up.

Oh is it?

Once the night wears thin.... *Once the lights are turned back on. *Once the smoke dissipates. Once the all the gyrations (and smooching?) had been done and all is sweaty, make-up melted, waxes dissolved....

Then you 'll all go:

EEEEEEWWWWWWW!!!!!! HIDEOUS !

This is a best time to sieve out the really good-lookers and 90% of the rest of the population that are only 'average' and are posing the night away.:0)

Guess that hottie is not that hot after all . :p

LMAO.

'Dancing Divas' or 'Dancing Dogs & Donkeys. '

You decide. :)

Bwahahahahaa. Bwahahahahaha. Bwhahahahahaha

Persona Persona-fied

Who are we? Who am I?

We're always asking ourselves.

Are we black? Are we white? Or can we be and remain grey?

(I'm not going along any rascist-lines here mind you... its all 'abstract' . ;p)

We are all constantly juggling a image we put out there and an inner self we keep inside but will refuse to diminish it because it defines who we are.

So, are you pussy? Or are you a lion waiting to roar? LOL

Or sadly, vice versa??? You Great Pretender you .
Luv that song BTW .:-)

Seeing RED

The upheavals of life.... a plenty aren't they?

The bad experiences with people (aka a**-holes in wateva form or fxn) , situation (Lady Luck ain't smiling on you today) and just ... hmmm... woken up on the wrong side of the bed? (everyday?)

So , yeah, it causes you a burst of blood vessels. The wrath cometh. LOL

But I always remember to tell my self one thing; put it simply , being in such a rut, gets one NO WHERE.

Brush it off. Really.
" Oh what the heck."
Tell yourself that.
'Cos only you yourself will suffer.
ANGER = DANGER getit?
That said.... I have this #$%^&*(#$)(*!@# lecturer that stepped on my tail AGAIN !!!!
...... @#$%)(* !!! .
Baaaazztard. TURD.
Feels so much better . LMAO.

Missing Landscapes...

What do you get when you put an economic power house with not much land to spare for its ceaseless expansion?

High property prices matched with the buying power of global tigers...

"En bloc! En bloc !!" you say ?

True dat.

As our country nears yet another year of celebrating its Independence, if we look back in another 40-50 years time, we'll have this void in our heritage.

Buildings and structures define a society at its different stages of social and economic growth.

The Great Wall of China, the Pyramids of Giza, the Pantheon of Greece etc even the Stature of Liberty are examples of eras gone by; defining the trials, tribulations and upheavals the respective regions and their societies faced. Traditions and cultures were thus defined and transcended till this day.

For a nation like Singapore, we are both blessed and cursed by the the need to constantly renew and redevelop everything that speaks in the name of keeping the country's cash registers ringing and the coffers filled.

Buildings that defined our years of nation building and social setting, are gradually being torn down in the name of putting up new structures in their places.

Soon, we will see this awkward void in our physical history when we look back years from now.

We'll see the Colonial and Migrant influences of the 1700-early 1900s such as the City Hall area , the China Town/Little India/Kampung Glam area and the Singapore River side area. And then you'll see futuristic, commercially driven buildings we are busy erecting today to reflect our 'global position'.

This means what we have now and in the future are buildings that not necessarily reflect who we truly are but what we want the world at large to see us.

Then of course, back to the gist, this country will have little significant buildings that depicts the 60s-early 90s Singapore.

Nothing is new enough. Every things is old enough.

We tear down buildings that could have been upper class housing developments, posh hostels and high-end malls in other countries. But to us, at least to the authorities and money-faces developers, they are merely hindrance to bigger profits and fatter pay cheques and bonuses.

So, from now til 2050 perhaps, we're left with odd-looking, and even odder sounding, awe-LESS inspiring buildings.

Oh, but take heart, b'cos once their novelty shapes wear out, we'll tear it down again. :=P

Giving the Cold Shoulder

There are always the ups and Downs in any relationship.

But giving the other party the cold shoulder basically means you that lead each other into confusion as to what went wrong and at the same time let the problem (and each other) seethe in guilt, pain and anguish.

The 'Cold Shoulder' treatment is the Number One culprit when it comes to having 'communication breakdowns' , 'no longer talking scenarios', 'he/she is controlling' (too much whining and barking at each other; see what happens when too much pent-up emotions overflow the words?) and the classic 'irreconcilable differences'.

Let's put it simply, if you don't talk, don't discuss the issues at hand, how can the respective parties undersand each other's mentality and thoughts/ideas?

Problems cannot be solved by them selves. They have to be looked into and worked upon.

And that goes with not having egos and stuck-ups be in the way of things.

Be mutually fair. Don't go all biatchy. Be tactful. Be democratic. Be open. Be sincere. Not blunt.
Be sensitive. And most of all, be level-headed , which means, cool off first. (do that mini-meditation thing within youself for a couple of seconds to a few minutes.)

Tell yourself that you'd want to walk away a happier you, the matured one and the bigger person. Why make enemies? You see.

Embracing, not Accepting, who you are...

There are always the usual 'love yourself' 'self-esteem' notions out there.

Yeash, it is important to be have high self-esteem so as to not constantly feel insecure and defeated. Or the constant thoughts of needing to get that nose-job done or retail therapy to up that self-worth.

But, let's make it clear; to draw the distinct line between 'Embracing' yourself and 'Accepting' yourself.

The former is basically 'knowing who and what you are' . The latter on the other hand, is basically 'taking yourself as it is'.

Embracing yourself is the better of the two because it takes enough self-pride and esteem to know and acknowledge your strengths but at the same time, the courage to face up to your flaws. And because you love and respect yourself, you make the conscious effort to
better yourself. To constantly seek to have progression in who you are and what you are. You disallow self-destructive and socially destructive behaviors.

Such personalities know how to accept challenges and critisms with grace and dignity, and make positive steps in moulding themselves into a better person in the face of actually knowing, also, what their true pluses are.

Accepting yourself on the other hand fundamentally reeks insecurity and esteem issues. And it is definitely bad because although you acknowledge your good points, you're also taking your negative side as it is. Therefore, you generally do little in the name of making a positive change for the better. You think 'it's ok to be who I am'. Any change such a person experiences comes through influence and winds of change rather than any personal and genuine effort to seek out what's wrong and how to make right. Such personalities are seldom truthful to themselves simply because , suffice to say, truth hurts. They take it out on others because by accepting themselves and hence their flaws, they do not accept others opinions of them

Being head strong and strong willed is just different. And cos' you 'd know which trait belongs to which type.

Still unsure (or untruthful?) which category you fall into? Simple.

When was the last time you felt someone was zero-ing in on you? What was your reaction? To take the suggestions/critisms with humility or had a violent outburst?

If you reacted with maturity, grace and with level-headedness, you'd be an 'embracer'. If you rebutted with fiery temper and 'who da hell are you to tell me what to do' , then sadly, you're an 'accepter' of yourself.

And.... you'd be offended by this post already.

;-p

Faking it ....the NEW AGE OF HYPROCRACY

Let's be honest, if you have a blog, chances are, you also have an online profile of your self somewhere. Or many , even .

Good for those who are open, honest and true.

However, for MANY out there, they thrive and survive on a FAKE.

FAKE identities.... it's not just a Nic Name, but a FAKE name they provide, even. FAKE photographs, FAKE profiles, FAKE jobs, FAKE resumes, FAKE age ... FAKE everything that trully defines them.

What's their point?

Insecurities? Out to bluff? Using the cyber space as a refuge from the real world and identites? Having the fantasy of being someone they cannot be in real life? Or worse of all, dillusional ( not having the ability differentite reel from real) ?

Lot's of predators out there. Beware. Following up with my earlier post on MSN Chat, I've got too many who masquerade around behind masks and chatting up and hoping to chat into your pants as well. (aka the Corny and the Horny)

And then there are those, who really just need a reality check to realise that they need to start embracing who they are because if they don'tlove and care for them selves (and it shows), no one will.

I'm the type who will still say 'hi and chat' . But many will probably just type 'Loser', log off and hit the 'Block' / 'Delete' option, know what I mean...?

The Cyber space, this generation's NEW REALITY.

MSN ... the irony of it .

I don't know about other people but I'm sure they have quite the same experience as I have. Maybe. *Chuckle

I've got people adding me to MSN Chat almost everyday... and out of pure kindness and openess in conversing with new people, I accept their request to add them to my list.

Every once in a while, on the rare occasion when I do have the time to log in, I see a WHOLE lot of users online.

Then, I'd be thinking.... " Last month (Not to mention other months), alone, I'd added up to over 10 people who requested for me to see me online.. so surely I could have some light hearted chat (or the very least, banter) with SOMEONE. "

And then.... NONE. None. Blardy none.

Sheeeesh ! I tend to feel lonelier when on MSN then off it !

Not to sound all narcissistic or anything, but pleeeeeze.....

Time and time again, I see a 'ghost town' (hardly the simile to use here, I know, but you get the idea) of people I don't know, who also do not bother to drop by and say 'Hi, my name is so-and-so and blah blah blah.. nice to meetchu... met you here/there.. do you remember.. " along those line.

NO . Nothing.

Just a chat-room full of quiet, mysterious, weird people who are either 'there but are not actually there " (then F-ing log off !) , people who reply in 1-liners and then there are those who make strange/lewd remarks and requests, much to my amusement and often sometimes annoyance.

The BIG question BEGS : Why do these dung-heads bother seeking for someone to add them up in a CHAT ROOM but aren't actually interested in CHATTING/conversing?

WTF. GO away !!!

Chris Benoit ... A Hero?

I know by posting this could well cause here to be bombarded and boy-slammed by hundreds of Wrestling fans.

But as the Big Show is about to start here, and hearing that fans actually want to take the opportunity to pay tribute to the late wrestler (notice I didn't say 'star') , I really cringe. I do.

I worry at the impact such a enigmatice figure like Chris has on our culture and young minds out there.

...that it is 'OK' to commit murder and suicide? That violence can solve problems and make you rich and famous?

.... that the intellectual mind can be overruled by raw emotions and brute physical prowess?

I DON'T THINK SO.

So, with all due respects, and I 'm sure Benoit has done SOME good in his life , as MADtv's Vancome Lady would have put it ,

" Hehhhhh.... You know what? Eh! Eh! ..." (as in NO NO I disagree; hey take it with a pinch of salt ok?)

Chris' life and death circumstances should not be glamourized.

He would not see the steps of Saint Petersberg that's for sure.

So, they die-hards out there, sorry ,but you've just got to live it ; the tragic revelation of the TURE Chris Benoit.

There's just no fitting tribute. There shouldn't be at all.

Computer Viruses ... what a scam.

I am sure we all secretly hope that we didn't have to constantly upgrade our anti-virus software and scan for them ever so often for our computers and our D/Ls , don't we?

It's a hassle . And it's worrying.

Have you ever wondered what life with IT is like WITHOUT viruses??? How did this bane all come about?

It's been a while that I've had this theory. It's now I am voicing it out .
(And hopefully no undercover agent out there is gonna come knocking on my backdoor and shoot me in the head!)

" WHO ever poisons WILL have the Antidote. "

"Give me the SOLUTION to the PROBLEM you created."

Am I getting obvious enough?

The Spyware companies are the ones releasing the dreaded viruses onto the Net or have embedded the critters in the softwareswe can't live without, to infect the millions of unsuspecting computers.

So, that once there's 'a problem', they'll release their " updated" anti-virus wares to countless desperate owners all over, to weed out the offending V. Only to drop yet another bomb the next time a round.

And so good luck to ya'll having to keep paying these scam-artistes for 'anti-virus ' updates, annually.

Brilliant.
