Perfect-10 Team !

2010 is a whirlwind year for Sports.

The World Cup fever is red hot right now ( 'Germany ! Germany !...')

And then round the corner is the inaugural Youth Olympic Games.

Not normally a mascot-plush toy collector but this year, I really do want one of each of these!!

The Growing P!nk Dot vs.the Little Red Dot.

It was a sea of Pinks.

A day of brave souls in a place of hostility and discrimination.

It was a day to show the world that many support the move for free love regardless of race, language or religion or orientation. Whatever equality means to one.

The Pink is growing. Twice as fast in fact.

I wasnt there .

Q ... brave am not. Busy , I am.

Am A Rock !

The 2010 Volkswagen Amarok .

A stunner in form and function.

Like all VWs, this is a precision-made machine of high quality, sophisticated techno-wizardy of an advanced gear box, powerful turbo charged engine and then some.

Traverse the rough terrain and you know you are The Rock.

Mock and Mockery

The Quintessential Audi A3. A long-time icon of style, substance and sophistication for the junior executive.

The Cherry A3 : The wannabe that is getting there. In a world so used to poking fun at shady Chinese cars, this brand is beginning to come into its own. With vastly inproved quality, a gorgeous coupe-5 door body penned by Pininfarina almost seals the deal.

Until of course, you factor in the poor ergonomics, the painfully sluggish engine and mediocre gear box, you know , appearances can only do so much.

Q .... The Monach butterfly could be emulated. But it was never duplicated.

Trendy Boys

The Citroen DS3 is an options galore that will strike a cord with the boys for it's fashionable with all the hip options sans the pissy-ness.

The 2nd Gen Volvo C30, brought the older version's manic pace to the Prada crowd with fiercer design and a ton of fancy accessory-options inside out. I love the floating dash board with optional electric guitar 'flame-surfaces.' Coolness.

MINI: More iconic than pretty but You've got to drive to believe why its worth the designer price tag. I love the quirky Clubman.

The Peugeot 1007 is for the high-heeled retail-therapied fashionista who's got too much bags to tote around and concerns herself with stepping in and out in style and little hassle via the big auto sliding doors. Who said anything about the boys?

The retro-dazzled Fiat 500 is undoubtedly a thing of beauty and its fashion-accessories options list is looooong and matches the DS3. A very nice toy for its agility. Yes, that's lingo understood only by the boys.

The New Beetle was the icon that introduced the word 'chic' to the boring car engineers. It's very cute, great build quality and brand, and that's it. You want an exciting drive? Get the Scirrocco instead. Or a designer pony.

Who says the girls are the trendy wheelers? Yes, they know the brands and the goods.

But The boys know better. The story, behind the label.

Fierce for Success

As the world turns its back on rough-and-tumble SUVs for their lack of refinement, environmental unconsciousness and the very common sense that most peep don't live next to a barn, and when the common car , is too anaemic for the adventurous urban jungle warrior, the cross-over 'soft-roader' has been the ideal sweet spot that car manufacturers have .

Mitsubishi , from the looks of things, their new competitor in this hotly contested segment in the market , the RVR (the new 2010 that is, not the old thing of yore-and-ions ago) .

Taking a hint from the very aggressive ( and very successful)shark-visage of the Lancer, and a rear end not too disimilar to the Audi Q3.

So , what you get is a winner .

Cannot wait til it hits the show rooms this year . And soon . Lovely.

Have a Roaring good year ahead!

I was thinking just maybe, leopard stipes and python prints of last seasons will make way for Tiger prints...No?

Wishing all Yellow-Skinned-folks , yeah that's the Chinese for you , you racist p*gs, Happy CNY 2010 !

May the new year of the Tiger bring ya'll prosperity, happiness and fulfilment.

Let us Cheer to a Tiger Beer Milk Shake!!! ^^( See my earlier post; Sinfully yummy recipe 'Toast to a Tiger' )

Q..I do hope this new year would get a lil better . Last year was a total sh*t.

Arrive in Couture

Couture on wheels. Who else but the French to do it with such nominal finesse?

Citroen, the quirky french car maker is at it again.

They have aimed their designer flare guns at MINI. Wanting a piece of the hip and discerning driver-crowd who's out on style over substance.

Of course, there is substance.

Driving-wise, the company has ensured good sporty handling and responsive engines to give the famous-cart like drive of the MINI.

But to get to the point of the DS3, is to discuss the hundreds of thousands of options and combinations to tick off the list before flipping the cheque book.

Not just the technical specs sheet options, and certainly not just the car's body piant job, but also the roof color, the graphics on the roof and everywhere else , the interior fittings, the upholstery, the wing mirrors, the wheels and even the hub caps!

And virtually anything else one could possibly want to make their expensive ride trully their own.

This side of a bespoke Rolls Royce or Bentley, only the Fiat 500 being the other car that is priviledged enough to step out in such distinct style only the owner will gladly call his or her own.

Brilliant.

The Angel Takes Flight Once more.

The Tyra Show will sing its swan song in the Spring of 2010.
Hey there. I want to share some news with you. This will be the last season of The Tyra Show. I've been loving having fun, coming into your living rooms, bedrooms, hair salons for the past 5 years. The thing is, The Tyra Show is not leaving because of YOU. Most times, a show leaves the air because not many people are watching. Well, you all ARE watching, in record numbers. You must know this love and support is always felt by me and it's given me the courage to take more exciting steps in my life. So I thank you for that.
~Tyra Banks

Banks made a point that her show currently aired on the CW is not being taken off air because of low viewership numbers. In fact, she noted people are watching her show "in record numbers."

Banks dropped a clue that she will be on to her "next huge steps" that will allow her to reach more women and young girls. Banks told her fans that her company Bankable is going to be launching Bankable Studios, a film production company. She also stressed that she is going with the "digital explosion" and her website Tyra.cm will become "a whole new digital Tyra.com world." Banks noted that she will stay on as the host of America's Next Top Model and True Beauty.

The show will be dearly missed.

The news comes after Oprah, announced that she would be ending her show in 2011.

Q... Looks like Wendy Williams will have the last laugh after all.

The Next Best Superstar

As 2010 looms ahead and signal that we're soon to exit the first decade of the new millennium, looking back at how the industry had evolved into an unpredictable, volatile and insanely competitive environment where marketing hype and packaging almost outshines talent, we look ahead and wonder who's gonna make it or break it in the NEXT decade.

The Top 5 Music artistes to look out for in the Next Decade.

1) Whitney Houston: After a 7-year absence, she’s back on top. What’s next on her cards to prove to the newer generation on what talent and diva-licious really mean and what does she still have in her?

2) Lady Gaga: She’s edgy and ground breaking in both her style and music and it’s to no one’s surprise that she’s likely the biggest star on the charts for the next decade. Or will she? Is she fucking crazy? Or fucking fabulous?

3) Shakira: How will the world be even more convinced of this multi-talented chanteuse?

4) Madonna: She’s celebrated her reign as Queen of Pop longer than anyone, what’s the next decade gonna be like for the Mother of Reinvention now that she’s left Warner Music, the very label that made her?

5) Susan Boyle: She’s the single biggest story of rags to riches, talent above all else. Her massive album sales says it all. Perhaps she’ll lead the way for a new generation with a genuine appreciation for talent, rather than looks and packaging?

Over-stayers Alert:

Britney, Rihanna, Beyonce and Mariah will still be around, though the fatigue the public has of them is getting as obvious as their shrinking creative space.

On that note, will Mariah finally bulldoze her way pass Elvis and The Beatles as the artiste with the most #1-hits on the Bill Board charts, given her sleepy release of her recent ‘Memoirs’ album which is indeed imperfect?

What’s next for these?

>What’s next for Janet who’s just launched her penultimate greatest hits and who now remains the only viable member of the Jackson clan on the charts?

When in fact, her recent songs are not making the waves like they used to simply because she cannot sing like Whitney or Mariah, not is as media savvy as Madonna nor deemed as hot as Britney and Beyonce?

>Will Lil Kim continue to reign as the Queen of Female Rap music? Is she making a comeback anytime?

>Will Kelly Clarkson remain the Queen of Idols?

>Will Alicia Keys and Leona Lewis indeed become the new ‘Whitneys’ for Clive Davis?

>Will Norah Jones continue to lead the way for the new generation of female Jazz vocalists?

>Will The Wonder Girls truly break into the International market next year? Or will they just be a one-hit wonder?

>Will Nicole Scherzinger finally get her (successful) solo break from The Pussy Cat Dolls?

>How will Vanessa Mae continue to redefine classical-pop music like she had for the most part of the last 2 decades?

>Will Ciara’s music career sink further into the abyss in the next decade?

>How will Jordin Sparks, Alessandra Burke and Keri Hilson define themselves more distinctly to finally earn the recognition they deserve?

> Will The Spice Girls make another comeback?

Panda to Kung fu its way

Kungfu Panda

Geely . A car brand scoffed by all. Poor quality. Poor design. Low tech. 'Imitation stuff' .

I'm guilty too . I wouldnt be caught dead stepping out of one. Or be damned, they are so 'loose' I could be dead in one .... Gosh!

But things are looking up for this very established Chinese brand (them locally at least) .

2010 sees the launch of the Panda.

Finally, a compact Chinese car with the goods: The quality, the design inside and out and the up-to-date technology.

Things are looking up (and looking very cute) indeed.

Beggars' Shoes are HOT.

Introducing :
Sanuk 'Sidewalk Surfers' .

The tag that came wit heach new pair reads these:

Tag line:
" THESE ARE NOT SHOES. THESE ARE SANDALS."

Disclaimer:
: " Sorry if you wer ehoping to find some hi-tech springs, coils , pumps or air-bags. You just won't find them here. After all walking naturally in these though, we're confident that you won't want ot wear anything else... but then again, what do we know? We're just a bunch of surfers in sandals."

These have got to be the ugliest but comfy-est pairs of lazy-ass loafers you could possibly own.

They are so anti-fashion , they are so cool.

These begger's foot wear are anything but dirt cheap.

They are hand-made and deliberately distressed .

So, in fact, prepare to foot (no pun intended) a princely sum for a pair.

You gotta have the attitude and style to pull these off (and a bit crazy to pay for one). Otherwise, the peeps at the fine dining will call the security.

And just maybe a coin will be tossed your way.

YOG-urt

The world's Inaugural Youth Olympic Games (YOG) will be held in Singapore in 2010.

It's no secret.

It's no secret too that we're so going to screw this up .

Latest news is that our much anticipated big-bang-big-bucks Sports Hub won't even be close to completion by then.
2012 that is.

Do the Maths.

Even as of now, the hype is next to nothing . No build up of momentum. Nothing that says that we're gearing up or ready to be the next Beijing.

At this rate, we're going to have to hold the YOG in somebody's Backyard.
